dc.description.abstract	La presente investigación parte de observar como el sector metalmecánico en Santander no ha logrado encontrar una senda de crecimiento, transformación y modernización que lo posicione como uno de los sectores líderes en la dinámica productiva de la economía nacional en los últimos años. Su objetivo fue identificar aquellas variables relevantes que han venido explicando el comportamiento del sector metalmecánico durante el periodo 2000 2010 en Santander. La dinámica de las empresas industriales, a partir de la experiencia de las empresas metalmecánicas, es un referente de gran relevancia para los demás sectores industriales y la economía del país dadas sus características como sector transversal, se considera como aquel encargado de iniciar y continuar la transferencia tecnológica hacia otros sectores, aportando elementos interesantes para análisis y obtención de conclusiones importantes que facilitarán la extrapolación hacia otros sectores de la economía. El referente teórico que fundamentó la investigación fue la Encuesta Anual Manufacturera desarrollado por el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística durante el periodo 2000 -2010. La metodología utilizada fue la recopilación de datos para procesarla en un programa econométrico utilizando el modelo de Robert Solow que arrojó la incidencia y relevancia de las principales variables que explican el sector manufacturero en Santander, así como el impacto comercial para dicho sector. Los resultados identificaron a la variable Total de Activos como la encargada de jalonar el crecimiento económico del sector, siendo la encargada de entregar la mayor cantidad de riqueza social al departamento de Santander durante el periodo 2000 2010.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This research begins observation how the metalnetworking sector in Santander has failed to find a path of growth, transformation and modernization that position as one of the leading sectors in the production dynamics of the national economy in recent years. It aim was to identify relevant variables that have been explaining the behavior of the metalnetworking sector during the period 2000 - 2010 in Santander. The dynamics of industrial enterprises, from the experience of metalworking companies, is has great relevance for other industrial sectors and the economy as a sector given its characteristics cross, he is considered responsible for initiating and continuing technology transfer to other sectors, providing interesting elements for analysis and obtain important conclusions that will facilitate extrapolation to other sectors of the economy. The theoretical reference that base the research was the Annual Manufacturing Survey developed by the National Bureau of Statistics for the period 2000-2010. The methodology used was the collection of data for processing in a program using the econometric model of Robert Solow that showed the incidence and significance of the main variables that explain the manufacturing sector in Santander and the commercial impact for the sector. The results identified the variable Total Assets as responsible for economic growth in the sector, being responsible for delivering the most social wealth to Santander department during the period from 2000 to 2010.
