dc.description.abstract	La base de datos multiescalar del conocimiento geológico del litoral y áreas insulares del Caribe colombiano, es la herramienta con la cual los investigadores del Programa GEO del INVEMAR evalúan el volumen y la ubicación geológica-geográfica de la información bibliográfica existente. Esta, será el insumo base de información secundaria con la cual se realizará la caracterización tectónica, geológica y geomorfológica, proyecto que se encuentra nacional de investigación para la prevención, mitigación y control de la erosión costera en La información bibliográfica que compone la base de datos, se recopiló, clasificó y revisó, basándose en los trabajos desarrollados por Etayo-Serna et al 1983; López, E, 2005 y Posada y Henao 2008; que sirven como marco regional en las tres facetas (tectónica, geología y geomorfología) complementándolos con investigaciones más puntuales desarrolladas para el área del Caribe como Tchanz, (1969, 1974); Duque-Caro, (1978,1984,1990), Cardona, A, (2007); INVEMAR et al; (2007), Weber et al; (2009) entre otros. La metodología estandarizada Dublin Core, es un conjunto de elementos para describir una amplia gama de recursos de la red, fue empleada para la administración de la metadata de la información secundaria, que hace parte de la base de datos; más el Shapefile de georreferenciación en ArcGIS 9.3, que se realizó mediante la comparación de puntos en común, entre la línea de costa del Caribe colombiano según como la definen Posada y Henao (2008) y de las áreas de estudio de la información bibliográfica.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The multiscalar database of the geological knowledge from the coastal and island areas in the Colombian Caribbean is the tool which researchers from the program GEO of INVEMAR use to evaluate the volume and the geological-geographical location of the existing bibliographic information. This will be the secondary information input with which will be performed the tectonic, geological and geomorphological characterization. This project is within the framework of the trol of Coastal Erosion in The bibliographic information that makes up the database was compiled, classified and reviewed based on the work done by Etayo-Serna et al 1983; López, E, 2005 and Posada y Henao 2008; which serve as a regional framework in the three facets (tectonics, geology and geomorphology) complemented with more specific investigations developed for the Caribbean as Tchanz, Tchanz, (1969, 1974); Duque-Caro, (1978,1984,1990), Cardona, A, (2007); INVEMAR et al; (2007), Weber et al; (2009) among others. The Dublin Core standard methodology is a set of elements to describe a wide range of network resources. It was used to manage the metadata of secondary information, which is part of the database. In addition, it was used the Shapefile georeferencing in ArcGIS 9.3, which was performed by comparison of commonalities between the line of the Colombian Caribbean coast as defined by Posada and Hainaut (2008) and study areas in the bibliographic information.
