Publicación: Composición, densidad y distribución vertical nictemeral de rotífera en un lago artificial poco profundo

| dc.description.abstract | En el Lago Acuarela, un sistema artificial poco profundo, ubicado a los 6°51'22''N y 73°4'19.5''W a 1685 m.s.n.m, en el Municipio de Los Santos, Santander, se analizó la composición, la densidad y la distribución vertical de los rotíferos más abundantes y su relación con algunas variables físicas y químicas en cuatro ciclos nictemerales; dos en la temporada de lluvias, I: 13-14 de octubre 2004 y II: 25-26 de mayo 2005 y dos en la temporada seca, I: 20-21 de enero 2005 y II 16-17 de marzo 2005, cada uno con intervalos de muestreo de tres horas y en una estación fija que corresponde a la zona más profunda. El Lago Acuarela presentó una estratificación térmica en la temporada de lluvias y en el primer ciclo de la temporada seca, además en esta última presentó estratificación física y química permanente en el ciclo II, el oxígeno presentó estratificación para las dos temporadas de muestreo y anoxia en todo el perfil vertical a partir de los 6 m de profundidad. Fueron determinadas trece especies de rotíferos (Keratella americana, Brachionus falcatus, Lecane monostyla, Lecane hornemanni, Lecane signifera, Lecane bulla, Trichocerca similis, Trichocerca ruttneri, Ptygura c.f libera, Hexarthra intermedia braziliensis, Polyarthra dolichoptera, Lepadella sp, y Anuraeopsis fissa). K. americana presentó mayor densidad numérica seguida por B. falcatus, L. distyla y P. c.f libera, estas especies mostraron distribuciones distintas entre ciclos y en el perfil vertical para cada temporada. El análisis de componentes principales reveló lo siguiente: los factores que más aportaron a la variabilidad del sistema fueron el pH, el OD y la profundidad, además que la abundancia de K. americana, P. c.f libera está correlacionada con estos factores en el periodo de estudio, además las especies registradas para el Lago Acuarela tienen preferencias por las capas superficiales de la columna de agua. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | The composition, density and vertical distribution of the most abundant rotifers were analyzed in the Acuarela Lake, an artificial low depth system. constructed at the end of the 80's and located at 6°51 ' 22 " N and 73°4 ' 19.5 " W, 1685 altitude, in the Municipality of Los Santos, Santander. There was analyzed also their relationship with some physical and chemical variables in four nictemeral cycles; two in the rainy season I: October 13-14, 2004. II: May 2526 2005 and two in the dry season I: 20-21 de January 2005 y II: 16-17 de Mar 2005 with intervals of three hours and on a fixed station that corresponds to the deepest zone of the system. The lake exhibited a thermal stratification during the rainy season and in the first cycle of the dry season. In the latter cycle II it presented a permanent physical and chemical stratification, the oxygen presented stratification for both seasons of sampling and anoxia in the whole vertical profile was observed from 6 m of depth. Thirteen rotifer species were determined Keratella americana, Brachionus falcatus, Lecane monostyla, Lecane hornemanni, Lecane signifera, Lecane bulla, Trichocerca similis, Trichocerca ruttneri, Ptygura c.f libera, Hexarthra intermedia braziliensis, Polyarthra dolichoptera, Lepadella sp, and Anuraeopsis fissa. K. americana had the most numerical density followed for B. falcatus, L. distyla y P. c.f libera. These species showed different distributions among cycles and in the vertical profile for every season of sampling. The component principal analyses showed: the factors that more reached to the variability of the system were pH, OD and depth, besides, the abundance of K. americana, P. c.f libera in the period of study was correlated to these factors and the species registered for the lake had preferences to the superficial layers of the water column. | |
