dc.description.abstract	La presente tesis describe la elaboración e implementación del plan de mantenimiento preventivo para la maquinaria y equipos de la empresa GMP INGENIEROS S.A.S. complementando con un sistema de información para la gestión del mantenimiento, el cual permite organizar, facilitar y agilizar las labores en esta área. Para el desarrollo de este proyecto se comenzó indagando la gestión del departamento de mantenimiento que tenía la empresa, mediante una auditoria donde se evaluaron diferentes aspectos; encontrando falencias que fueron mejoradas durante este proceso. Se elaboró un inventario y se implementó un sistema de codificación para el total de los equipos para su fácil registro. Con el fin de clasificar y jerarquizar los equipos se realizó un análisis de criticidad por medio del método de factores ponderados, donde a los equipos críticos se les aplicó la metodología AMEF para determinar las fallas potenciales y poder prevenirlas. De esta manera se crean las rutinas de mantenimiento y se organizan en intervalos dependiendo de los requerimientos de cada equipo. Finalmente todo el proceso se integra en un sistema de información para la gestión de mantenimiento en plataforma Visual Basic con base de datos SQL, el cual permitirá organizar y tener un control de toda la información referente al mantenimiento de los equipos y programar de una manera más eficiente las actividades preventivas, teniendo como resultado mayor disponibilidad de los equipos y disminuir los gastos en reparaciones inesperadas.
