dc.description.abstract	Las rocas pertenecientes al Ortoneis, aflorantes en el corregimiento de Babega, municipio de Silos, Norte de Santander; se pueden dividir en tres (3) franjas según sus características composicionales y texturales. La franja suroeste (SW) está compuesta por neises hornbléndicos milonitizados de grano medio, cuyo protolito es de composición diorítica. Además, esta franja posee bloques de esquistos moscovíticos de grano fino pertenecientes a los Esquistos del Silgará, los cuales fueron transportados por la falla de Angosturas. Los ortoneises de esta franja son cortados, en algunos sectores, por diques diabásicos y sienograníticos; y pequeñas apófisis del Granito de Durania de grano grueso y composición granodiorítica a tonalítica. La franja noroeste (NW) constituye neises cataclásticos de grano medio a grueso y composición cuarzofeldespática a pelítica; cuyo protolito varía entre granitoides ricos en cuarzo a sienogranitos. Los ortoneises de esta franja poseen bloques de esquistos con granate y esquistos moscovíticos pertenecientes a los Esquistos del Silgará, los cuales fueron transportados por las fallas satélite pertenecientes a la falla de Babega. La franja sur (S) está conformada por neises biotíticos de grano medio a grueso cuyo protolito varía entre granodiorita a cuarzomonzonita. Esta franja posee bloques de neises metamáficos y metapelíticos pertenecientes al Neis de Bucaramanga. Estos bloques fueron transportados por acción de la falla del rio Caraba y la falla de Babega. El pico metamórfico alcanzado para la unidad Ortoneis en el sector de Babega es de facies anfibolita, zona de la cianita almandino y se encuentra asociado a un evento de metamorfismo regional conocido como orogenia Famatiniana. Todas las franjas del Ortoneis fueron afectadas por un metamorfismo dinámico sobreimpuesto al metamorfismo regional, evidenciado en los diferentes grados de recristalización y en las diferentes estructuras tectónicas reportadas para esta zona.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The rocks belonging to the Ortoneis, outcropping in Babega, municipality of Silos, Norte de Santander; can be divided into three (3) fringes according to their compositional and textural features. The southwestern fringe (SW) is composed of medium-grain milonitized hornblendic gneisses, whose protolith has a dioritic composition. In addition, this fringe has fine-grained muscovite schists blocks belonging to the Esquistos del Silgará, which were transported by the Angosturas fault. The orthogneisses of this fringe are cut, in some areas, by diabasic and sienogranitic dikes; and small apophyses of coarse grain and granodioritic to tonalitic composition of the Granito de Durania. The northwestern fringe (NW) constitutes cataclastic gneisses of medium to coarse grain and quartz-feldspathic to pelitic composition; whose protolite varies between granitoids rich in quartz and sienogranites. The orthogneisses of this fringe have blocks of schists with garnet and muscovite schists belonging to the Esquistos del Silgará which were transported by satellite faults belonging to the Babega fault. The southern fringe (S) is composed by biotite gneisses of medium to coarse grain whose protolite varies between granodiorite and quartzmonzonite. This fringe has blocks of metamaphic and metapelitic gneisses belonging to the Neis de Bucaramanga. These blocks were transported by the Caraba river fault and the Babega fault. The metamorphic peak reached for the Ortoneis unit in the sector of Babega is amphibolite facies, zone of the kyanite - almandine and it is associated with a regional metamorphism event known as Famatinian orogeny. All the fringes of the Ortoneis were affected by a dynamic metamorphism superimposed to the regional metamorphism, it is evidenced in the different degrees of recrystallization and different tectonic structures reported for this zone.
