dc.description.abstract	El actual trabajo consistió en el estudio de especificaciones de normas estandarizadas y condiciones para la operación correcta de equipos, e instrumentos para las diferentes pruebas realizadas actualmente y nuevas pruebas a implementar en el laboratorio de fluidos de la escuela de Ingeniería de Petróleos de la Universidad Industrial de Santander. Para seleccionar las pruebas nuevas a implementar se realizo un sondeo a nivel nacional con los diferentes laboratorios existentes de carácter oficial, con el objeto de identificar las pruebas más solicitadas por el sector industrial, se estudió la relevancia de las propiedades para el área de los hidrocarburos y los parámetros generales señalados en el art 72 del Decreto 1594 de 1984 del Ministerio de Agricultura acerca de vertimiento de agua en afluentes. En este contexto, se establecieron las necesidades en equipos, instrumentos e insumos a la luz de normas internacionales como ASTM y los Standard Methods for Water and Wastewater, por su aplicabilidad y gran prestigio mundial en el campo de la normatividad Se pudo concluir que la actualización y modernización del laboratorio sería estratégico desde el punto de vista académico, administrativo e institucional para la escuela de Ingeniería de Petróleos y para la UIS porque permitiría promover la acreditación de sus instalaciones, para ofrecer servicios en esta área de forma competitiva, ampliando el margen de ingresos propios, además se fortalecería el currículum del programa de Laboratorio de Fluidos.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The current work consisted of the study of standardized specifications and conditions for the proper operation of equipments, and instruments for the various test made currently and new tests to implement in the Fluids™ laboratory of Petroleum Engineering's school from The Industrial University of Santander. To select the new test to implement a survey was conducted nationwide with the different laboratories of official type, in order to identify those tests most required by the industrial sector, we studied the relevance of the properties for the area of hydrocarbons and the general parameters outlined in Article 72 of Decree 1594 of 1984 of Ministry of Agriculture about pouring water into tributaries. In this context, the needs were established for equipment, instruments and supplies in the light of international standards such as ASTM and Standard Methods for Water and Wastewater, by its applicability and global prestige in the field of norms. Could concluded that the update and modernizing the laboratory would be strategic from the standpoint of academic, administrative and institutional for school of Petroleum Engineering and the UIS because would allow promote the accreditation of their facilities to offer services in this area way competitive, increasing their own earnings margin besides would strengthen the program curriculum Fluids Laboratory.
