dc.description.abstract	En el marco del presente proyecto se propone la identificación, descripción y valoración de los lugares de interés geológico (LIG) en el municipio de Mogotes, Santander. Lo anterior se debe a la variabilidad natural identificada para dicho municipio (Alcaldía de Mogotes, 2002) que ha sido de interés/uso tanto en actividades científicas asociadas a la caracterización de rocas ígneo-metamórficas del Macizo de Santander como actividades didácticas en el marco de la asignatura Campo II-Geología UIS o actividades ecoturísticas frecuentemente ofertadas en la región. Para la ejecución del proyecto, se selecciona la propuesta metodológica de García-Cortés y Carcavilla (2013) que permite reconocer el valor científico, didáctico o turístico de cada LIG en cuestión mediante la evaluación de parámetros dados, además de otros factores como la susceptibilidad de degradación que adquiere importancia en el caso de requerir figuras de protección específicas. Finalmente, esta propuesta permite delimitar los LIG mediante la cartografía de los mismos, aspecto que no es reconocido por otras metodologías analizadas. Para este caso particular, se reconocieron 18 lugares de Interés Geológico, destacando 12 de los mismos con un interés principal turístico, 5 de interés principal didáctico y 1 de interés principal científico. Además, se identifica 1 LIG que requiere una figura de protección inmediata, en relación con su susceptibilidad de degradación asociado con su vulnerabilidad por amenazas antrópica.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Throughout this proyect, we propose the identification, description and assessment of potential geotopes in Mogotes, Santander. The above is due to the natural variability identified for this municipality (Alcaldia de Mogotes, 2002) that has been interesting/useful both in scientific activities related to the total description of igneous-metamorphic rocks that are part of Santander Massif and didactic activities performed in the subject Campo II- Geologia UIS or ecotouristic activities offered frecuently in this zone. For the execution of the proyect, we selected the methodological proposal given by García-Cortés and Carcavilla (2013) because it let us recognize the cientific, didactic or touristic value for each of LIG selected through evaluation of some parameters given by the methodolody, in addition to other factors like susceptibility to degradation and priority of protection which take on importance in the case of require specific protection figures. Finally, this proposal allows delimiting geotopes by mapping them, aspect that is not recognized by other methodologies analized. In this particular case, we recognized 18 geotopes, distinguish twelve of them with a main tourist interest, five of them with a main didactic interest and one with a main cientific interest. Also, we identified one geotope which requires an inmediate protection figure related with his susceptibility of degradation associated by his vulnerability of antropic threat.
