dc.description.abstract	En este trabajo se presenta la investigación y estudio para implementar ensayos de geotextiles (Grab, rasgado trapezoidal, punzonamiento, espesor nominal y tamaño de abertura aparente) en la Universidad Industrial de Santander. Este procedimiento se llevó a cabo en tres etapas que sirvieron de apoyo para visualizar el alcance que tiene un proyecto de este tipo. La primera etapa consiste en un sondeo de las universidades en Colombia que cuentan con este tipo de laboratorios en sus programas de ingeniería civil y de la importancia de estos en la facultad, respaldado por una serie de encuestas realizadas a varios profesionales en la rama. Seguido de una visita al departamento de ingeniería-Geosistemas PAVCO, que cuenta con la implementación, procedimientos e instrumentos requeridos para los ensayos. La segunda fue una revisión de recursos e instrumentos que posee la escuela y por último elaboración del manual Ensayos de laboratorio con geotextiles. La UIS no ha implementado un laboratorio que permita comprobar mediante experimentación la veracidad y capacidad en las ventajas de los geotextiles, es necesario adoptar laboratorios que estén acorde a la competencia y acreditación ante las demás universidades del país. Adelantar este proceso investigativo significa proporcionar nuevas herramientas que sirvan de inicio en un proceso de búsqueda a la implementación de laboratorios con infraestructura básica, para la UIS enriqueciendo los futuros ingenieros con la oportunidad de ser más competitivos y líderes en este campo, siendo de vital importancia que la academia de comienzo y apoyo a la innovación.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This paper presents the research and study to implement testing geotextiles (Grab, trapezoidal tear, puncture, nominal thickness and apparent opening size) in the Industrial University of Santander. This procedure was carried out in three stages that supported to display the extent you have a project of this type. The first stage consists of a survey of universities in Colombia that have this kind of laboratory in civil engineering programs and the importance of these in college, backed by a series of surveys of various professionals in the field. Followed by a visit to the engineering department-Geosistems PAVCO, with the implementation, procedures and instruments required for testing. The second was a review of resources and tools that owns the school and finally developing the manual laboratory testing geotextiles. The UIS has not implemented a laboratory that allows to check the veracity through experimentation and capacity advantages of geotextiles, laboratories need to be taken that are consistent with accreditation to competition and other universities. Forward this investigative process means providing new tools that will start in a search process to implementing laboratories with basic infrastructure for enriching UIS future engineers with the opportunity to be more competitive and leaders in this field, it is of vital importance academy to start and support innovation.
