dc.description.abstract	El municipio de Barbosa ubicado en el departamento de Santander cuenta con un acueducto cuya red de distribución fue diseñada hace más de cincuenta años; por tal motivo se puede decir que no se encuentra en capacidad de brindar un óptimo servicio en la distribución de agua potable a la población del casco urbano a causa de su deterioro estructural y crecimiento poblacional. El presente proyecto reúne información básica del sistema de acueducto del sector urbano identificando las fuentes de suministro y conducciones para realiza un análisis de la red de distribución de agua potable mediante el uso del software EPANET, este análisis permite establecer la situación actual del sistema y las falencias presentes en la red; adicionalmente con la visión de la población se identifican los sectores con deficiencia en el servicio de agua potable para de esta manera finalmente proponer acciones preventivas y correctivas para mitigar las deficiencias en la red de distribución del sistema de acueducto que ayuden al municipio a mejorar la calidad del servicio de distribución de agua potable al sector urbano y cubrir las necesidades de la población actual, con este proyecto se espera contribuir a la buena cobertura del servicio de agua potable favoreciendo el desarrollo y la calidad de vida de sus habitantes.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Due to Barbosa’s town which is located in the state of Santander has an aqueduct distribution network which was designed fifty years ago. It says that is not able to provide an optimal service of the distribution of drinking water to the population of the town as a result of its structural deterioration and the increase of population growth. In this project, mainly the basic information about the aqueduct system of the urban sector is compile identifying the sources of supply and conduct for to do an analysis of the distribution of potable water by using the software called EPANET, allow to establish the current situation of the system and weakness of the network, with a population sampling which one identified the sectors of deficiency in the service of drinking water for propose preventive and corrective actions to mitigate the weakness in the aqueduct distribution system finally, to assist the town to improve the quality of service of the water on the urban sector and cover the needs of the current population because if the town has good coverage of drinking water will help the development and quality of life of the population.
