dc.description.abstract	El presente documento describe el comportamiento de la inflación en el sector salud, específicamente en los rubros de medicamentos y servicios profesionales, durante el período 2010 al 2015. Para lograr este objetivo se recurre al análisis descriptivo y multivariable del Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC) disponible para las ciudades de Bogotá, Medellín y Bucaramanga. El primer capítulo es un compilado teórico y marco referencial que permite entender el efecto de la inflación, desde el punto de vista microeconómico, sobre el bienestar y el gasto de bolsillo. En el segundo capítulo se presenta de forma descriptiva el comportamiento de la inflación en los grupos estudiados, mientras el tercer capítulo, a través del análisis discriminante, pretende establecer las variables determinantes (medicamentos y servicios profesionales, así como sus subgrupos), en el alza de los precios percibidos por los consumidores de ingresos alto, medio y bajo. Finalmente, algunas de las conclusiones permiten identificar la necesidad de realizar más estudios por ciudades y de corte nacional que puedan alimentar un sistema de información continuo acerca de los efectos de la inflación sobre el bienestar de los individuos (ingreso disponible y distribución del gasto por familias), que sirva como herramienta para medir la efectividad de las medidas regulatorias en el mercado de las medicinas y su relación con la necesidad de establecer nuevas políticas públicas que mitiguen las consecuencias negativas tanto de la inflación como de la regulación.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This document describes the behavior of inflation in the health sector, specifically in the areas of drugs and professional services, during the period 2010 to 2015. To achieve this it uses the descriptive analysis and multivariable of the index of prices to the consumer (IPC) available in the cities of Bogota, Medellin and Bucaramanga. The first chapter is a compiled theorist and framework that allows understanding the effect of inflation from the microeconomic point of view, on welfare and pocket expenses. The second chapter presents descriptively the behavior of inflation in the groups studied, while the third chapter, through the discriminant analysis, aims to establish the determining variables (medicines and professional services, as well as its subgroups), in the rising of the prices experimented by high income consumers, medium and low. Finally, some of the conclusions identify the need for further studies by cities and national point of view that can feed a continuous information system about the effects of inflation on the well-being of individuals (available income and distribution of expenditures by families), which also serves as a tool for measuring the effectiveness of regulatory measures on the market of medicines and their relationship with the need for new policies that mitigate the negative consequences both inflation and the regulation.
