dc.description.abstract	El presente trabajo de grado se fundamenta en el estudio de la actividad de las descargas atmosféricas en el departamento de Santander, realizando un avance en el estudio del rayo en la zona intertropical, hallando los parámetros y el comportamiento específico en pequeñas ubicaciones. Usando la información de la actividad de rayos proporcionada por la red LINET (Red Colombiana de Detección Total de Rayos) de los años 2014, 2015, 2016 y 2017, se cuantificará la incidencia de rayos en los municipios, las provincias y el departamento de Santander, determinando la actividad de descargas dependiendo de cada área, por otra parte se construirán los primeros mapas de la densidad de descargas a tierra o DDT en Santander (la cantidad de rayos que ocurren anualmente en un área de 1km²), donde se pueden identificar con más exactitud los sitios de mayor incidencia de rayos en cada uno de los años en estudio. Con la información adquirida en este proyecto de grado, se desea indicar las zonas más favorables para la ubicación de una antena de captación y medición de parámetros de rayo, para poder seguir progresando en la investigación acerca de este fenómeno natural y analizar los parámetros propios del rayo en el territorio santandereano.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The present work is based on the study of the activity of atmospheric discharges in the department of Santander, making progress in the study of lightning in the intertropical zone, establishing its characteristics and behavior which are specific to small locations. Using the lightning activity information provided by the LINET (Colombian Network for Total Lightning Detection) network for the years 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, the incidence of lightning in municipalities, provinces and the department will be quantified, determining the lightning activity depending on its own area, on the other hand, the first maps of the density of land discharges or GFD in Santander (the amount of lightning that occurs annually in an area of 1km²) will be constructed, where the sites with the highest incidence of lightning in each of the years under study can be identified more accurately. With the information acquired in this degree project, we wish to suggest the most favorable areas for the location of an antenna for capturing and measuring lightning parameters, in order to continue progressing in the investigation of this natural phenomenon and to analyze the specific parameters in the santanderean territory.
