dc.description.abstract	El proyecto nace del interés manifestado por el grupo de investigación de poder prestar servicios geológicos a la industria de los hidrocarburos y la minería, aprovechando los recursos que les ofrece la Universidad Industrial de Santander, sus capacidades y experiencia en la realización de estos trabajos que darían como resultado servicios con la más alta calidad. La idea fue iniciar con una investigación que permitiera conocer los diferentes entornos que rodeaban el grupo tanto externo como interno y poder identificar las oportunidades y amenazas, las fortalezas y debilidades de llevar a cabo esta idea de negocio, seguido de esto se indagó en los posibles clientes y sus diversas necesidades para evaluar que tanto cubrimiento podría abarcar la nueva unidad de negocios, dependiendo de sus recursos físico y humano, evaluando así dos variables importantes demanda y capacidad. Finalmente con base en un análisis financiero se realizó la proyección a cinco años de la unidad de negocio, evaluando los diferentes estados financieros proyectados y las diversas variables fundamentales en la toma de decisiones como lo es la Tasa Interna de Retorno (TIR) y el Valor Presente Neto (VPN),las cuales después de dicha evaluación permitieron emitir el juicio que el estudio de este proyecto es viable y con un gran atractivo por los beneficios que traerá a las partes involucradas.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The project was the interest expressed by the research group to provide geological services to the hydrocarbon industry and mining, using the resources offered by the Universidad Industrial de Santander, skills and experience in performing these jobs would result in services with the highest quality. The idea was to start with an investigation to know the different environments around the group both externally and internally and to identify opportunities and threats, strengths and weaknesses of conducting this business idea, followed by this investigates the potential customers and their diverse needs to assess both coverage could cover the new business unit, depending on their physical and human resources, two important variables and evaluating demand and capacity. Finally, based on a financial analysis was performed five-year projection of the business unit, evaluating the different projected financial statements and the various key variables in decision making such as the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and the Net Present Value (NPV), which allowed the assessment after issuing the opinion that the study of this project is viable and very attractive for the benefits they bring to the parties involved.
