dc.description.abstract	Este proyecto tiene la finalidad de contribuir en la identificación y posible generación de estrategias de mitigación a la situación de conflicto existente entre la comunidad indígena de la Nación U’wa y la empresa estatal Ecopetrol. La generación del conflicto con este pueblo étnico data desde la historia de colonización en el país, y posteriormente con la incursión de empresas y consorcios multinacionales públicos y privados al territorio ancestral de dicha población. La Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), representada a través de la Escuela de Ingeniería de Petróleos, el autor y el director de esta investigación, actúa como mediadora a través de los resultados y productos obtenidos durante el ejercicio, puesto que en estos se plasman los principales factores por los que se genera la controversia socio-ambiental entre las partes involucradas. También se identifica, a través del análisis de testimonios y evidencias fotográficas recolectadas en la zona objeto de estudio del campo de gas Gibraltar, la problemática en la vereda Cedeño del municipio de Toledo, en el departamento de Norte de Santander. Esto con la intención de retribuir, a modo de contraprestación. Por la autorización de ingreso, validación de información y compromiso con este proceso académico que abre las puertas a un fuerte cuestionamiento crítico sobre las implicaciones ambientales de la explotación petrolera.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This project aims the contribution to solution of the conflict that exists between the U'wa native’s community and the state’s company Ecopetrol. Dispute that is generated by the nonconformity of the native’s community for the incursion of the oil industry into territories that are sacred to them. The Industrial University of Santander, represented by the School of Petroleum Engineering and its respective authors and director of the present project, acts as mediator of the conflict through this final document. In this document are written the main factors of the social controversy between the two parts involved and is determined by analysis of testimonies and photographic evidence collected during a visit to the area of influence on the Gibraltar gas field, its conclusions and recommendations seeking an end to the aforementioned dispute, since this document will reach the native’s community in return for the permission and guidance they gave us for the visit to the area because it is a sacred territory for them and without their authorization it would have been impossible to get there. This Project leads to a sort of solution for the problems of the communities that are struggling for the preservation of their territories, it also shows the implications of the gas explotation for the environment and for the people near the exploration fields.
