dc.description.abstract	Por sus cualidades sonoras, por su versatilidad, y por muchas otras razones, el saxofón alto es dentro de toda esta familia de instrumentos, el más relevante y para el cual se han escrito muchas obras en el ámbito académico y popular. Para referirnos explícitamente a la esencia de este trabajo, el cual consiste en dar a conocer tres de la más representativas obras compuestas para éste instrumento, como son: el concierto para saxofón alto en mi bemol, del compositor Alexander Glazounov, la scaramouche, del compositor Darius Milhaud y la Improvisation et Caprice, del compositor Eugene Bozza, así como una importante adaptación de la sonata Nº 4 de Johan Sebastian Bach, escrita originalmente para flauta y piano. Es necesario mencionar que uno de los objetivos del trabajo, es ofrecer la posibilidad a los saxofonistas de conocer desde otra perspectiva, los aspectos que ayudarán a mejorar la ejecución de estas obras. De igual manera se pretende reafirmar la posición del saxofón alto, como instrumento de concierto, en la comunidad de Bucaramanga y más específicamente al interior de la escuela de artes-música de la Universidad Industrial de Santander. dc.description.abstractenglish	For its sonorous qualities, for its versatility, and for many other reasons, the high saxophone is from all this family of instruments, the most relevant and for which they have written by themselves many works in the academic and popular area. To refer explicitly to the essence of this work, which consists of announcing three of more representative works composed by this one instrument, since they are: the concert by high saxophone in my flat, of the composer Alexander Glazounov, the Scaramouche, of the composer Darius Milhaud and the Improvisation et Caprice, of the composer Eugene Bozza, as well as an important adjustment of the sonata N º 4 of Johan Sebastian Bach, written originally to flute and piano. It is necesary to announce that one of the objetives from this work, it is offering the chance to the saxophoners of knowing from another perspective, the aspects that will help to improve the execution of these works. Of equal way one tries to reaffirm the position of the high saxophone, as instrument of concert, in Bucaramanga's community and more specifically to the interior of the School of Arts - Music of the Industrial University of Santander. Finally, one seeks to foment and to stimulate the practice of this instrument with a view to consolidate a good School of Saxop!hone in the Colombian East
