dc.description.abstract	Esta investigación presenta una caracterización del sistema de carga del área metropolitana de Bucaramanga, basada en información secundaria con el fin de conocer las principales características, debilidades y limitaciones de este sistema. Se presenta información acerca del crecimiento anual de las toneladas transportadas por las vías nacionales y los grupos de producción que son transportados en el departamento de Santander además de la carga movilizada por las vías del Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga, además de su tendencia de crecimiento poblacional presentados en porcentaje promedio anual, mostrando a su vez como este crecimiento afecta el aumento en el transporte de carga que se moviliza por este sistema. También se presenta el parque automotor de vehículos inscritos en los cuatro municipios que conforman el Área Metropolitana, las rutas principales utilizadas para la movilización de carga ya sea de ingreso, salida o de paso por el Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga, además de volúmenes de tránsito de camiones en unidades de Transito Promedio Diario Semanal (TPDs) que circulan por estas vías, secciones transversales viales, adicionalmente se presenta un análisis acerca de la variación de los Tránsitos Promedios Diarios Semanales, donde se observa como se ve afectada o condicionada por el comportamiento del tipo de carga y la cantidad de toneladas transportadas a nivel nacional y final mente se presentan propuestas existentes de nuevas infraestructuras viales y proyectos que puedan ser utilizadas para el mejoramiento del tránsito y el transporte de carga en el Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This research presents a characterization of the charging system of the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, based on secondary information in order to know the main characteristics, weaknesses and limitations of this system. Presents information about the annual growth of tons transported by national routes and the groups of production that are transported in the Department of Santander as well as mobilized load by means of the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga, in addition to its population growth trend presented in annual average percentage, showing at the same time as this growth affects the increase in freight that moves by this system. Also presents the fleet of vehicles registered in the four municipalities that make up the Metropolitan Area, the main routes used for the mobilization of cargo either for entry, exit or passing through the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga, in addition to volumes of transit of trucks in units of traffic average daily weekly (TPDs) driven on these roads, sections cross roads, additionally is an analysis about the variation of the transits averages weekly newspapers, showing how it looks affected or influenced by the behavior of the type of load and tonnes transported nationally and end mind existing proposals for new road infrastructure and projects that can be used are for the improvement of transit and freight transportation in the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga.
