dc.description.abstract	Debido a los rápidos avances en las tecnologías de la comunicación, la información llega cada vez a más personas, haciendo necesaria la mejora continua de los procesos y herramientas existentes. El Banco de Sangre del Hospital Universitario de Santander, siendo el más grande en la región, necesita de tales mejoras aún más que otras entidades. Hace algunos años se implementó en la institución un Software de carácter privativo que se encargaría de llevar a cabo todos los procesos necesarios para el manejo de la información. Sin embargo, debido al funcionamiento restringido del sistema, éste impedía hacer correcciones o reemplazo de los datos, particularmente en el Centro Transfusional, donde en muchas ocasiones los datos devueltos por el sistema no correspondían con la realidad. Esta situación hizo necesario para los encargados del Centro Transfusional el uso de herramientas externas para corroborar los datos que el sistema tenía incorrectos. Éstas herramientas, consistiendo principalmente en hojas de cálculo, son extremadamente dispendiosas tanto del tiempo como del esfuerzo de los encargados, haciendo difícil el registro y la presentación de los datos, además de estar sujetas a errores en sí mismas. Este proyecto presenta una alternativa a las herramientas rudimentarias usadas actualmente en el Banco de Sangre, enfocándose en la facilidad de uso e inserción de datos, así como en la claridad de la presentación de los mismos. Se explica el funcionamiento actual del Centro Transfusional, de donaciones y transferencias, la metodología usada para la realización del Sistema y las funciones que el mismo lleva a cabo. Se presenta esta solución con miras a posibles actualizaciones y extensiones en el futuro.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Due to the rapid advance in communication technologies the information reaches more and more people every day, increasing the necessity of continuous improving of the existent processes and tools. The Blood Bank of Hospital Universitario de Santander, being the largest in the región, needs of such tools even more than other entities. With the purpose of control and organization of the data and processes required in the institution, a privative Software was implemented several years ago. However, due to the restricted functioning of the system, it hindered corrections or replacement of data, specially in the Transfusional Center where, more often than not, the data returned by the system didn't match with reality or expectations. This situation forced the people responsible of the Transfusional Center to use alternative tools in order to confirm the incorrect information presented by the application. These tools, consisting primarily of spreadsheets, expend too much of the time and effort of the doctors in charge, making the insertion and presentation of the data too difficult, besides also being subject to errors. This project presents an alternative to the rudimentary tools currently being used in the Blood Bank, focusing in the ease of use and clear data insertion, as well as in the order of the presentation. It describes the current main operations with donations and transferences in the Transfusional Center, the methodology used in the development of the System and its functions. This solution is presented with the possibility of further updates and extensións in the future.
