dc.description.abstract	En este artículo se presentan algunas alternativas para implementar eventualmente un corredor vial inteligente en la ciudad de Bucaramanga. Incluye una breve reseña acerca de los usos técnicos de los sistemas inteligentes de transporte (ITS) desde sus primeras instauraciones hasta las últimas aplicaciones en sistemas de transporte masivo y gestión vehicular en Colombia y el mundo. Se describen los parámetros que influyen para la operación de una intersección vial inteligente, las condiciones de movilidad que se quieren controlar y las posibles desventajas de la implementación de estos sistemas. Además se expone una lista de las herramientas ITS más utilizadas, explicando sus funciones, modos de trabajo, principales beneficios y destacando las que se consideraron más aptas para el estudio caso de un corredor vial en la ciudad de Bucaramanga, dadas las necesidades que se estimaron como principales en el tramo. El corredor está comprendido por la carrera 21 entre Avenida la Rosita y la calle 36. Al final, se presenta un presupuesto aproximado de los costos técnicos que podría generar implementar este corredor vial, algunos de los equipos propuestos servirán de apoyo no solo al trayecto especificado, sino dada su amplia cobertura, podrían usarse para el resto de la ciudad, lo cual aumentaría su funcionalidad.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This article presents some alternatives to introduce a smart corridor in the city of Bucaramanga. It includes a brief overview of the technical use of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) from its first establishment to the latest applications in mass transit systems and vehicle management in Colombia and the world. Parameters that influence the operation of an intelligent traffic intersection, mobility conditions to be controlled and the possible disadvantages of the introduction of these systems are described. Also a list of the most commonly used ITS tools is presented, explaining their functions, modes, major benefits and highlighting those considered the most suitable for the study of a corridor in the city of Bucaramanga, given the main needs that were estimated in the path. The corridor is composed of Carrera 21 between Avenida Rosita and Calle 36. Finally, an estimated budget of the technical costs that could be generated by the construction of this corridor is presented; some of the proposed equipment will support not only the specified path, but because of its wide coverage, could be used for the rest of the city, which would increase its functionality.
