dc.description.abstract	De acuerdo al crecimiento de las necesidades presentadas por la humanidad, resultado de la continua evolución; la ingeniería continua creando y proponiendo herramientas que faciliten nuestro desarrolló, como solución a las diferentes problemáticas presentes a la hora de estabilizar un terreno hay una tendencia que define lo que hoy conocemos como ingeniería estructural; gracias a la constante y rápida evolución en tecnología de materiales de construcción es posible crear estructuras cada vez más seguras, durables y al mismo tiempo amigables con el medio ambiente, muchos materiales de construcción han sido reemplazados con el paso de los años hecho que seguramente continuara presentándose. Este trabajo presenta los resultados de una búsqueda y recopilación de información acerca del desarrolló e implementación de materiales geo sintéticos en nuestro país. Gran parte de esta información fue suministrada por las entidades más representativas en el mercado nacional. Basados en esta documentación, la primera parte de este artículo contiene una reseña histórica e introducción a los materiales geo sintéticos disponibles en el mercado. La segunda parte comprende un análisis del sector comercial, y, posteriormente, un estudio técnico del uso que se les está dando a estos materiales en el territorio nacional, de tal manera que se permita concluir cuál es el estado actual de los geo sintéticos en Colombia y generar un conocimiento crítico del tema en nuestro país.
dc.description.abstractenglish	According to the growth of needs presented by the humanity, Result of the continuing evolution; The engineering continues creating and proposing tools that facilitate our development, how solution to the different problematic present to the hour of to stabilizing a terrain there is a tendency that defines what we know today how structural engineering; Thanks to the constant and fast evolution in technology of materials of construction is possible to create structures increasingly secure, durable and at the same time friendly with the environment, much materials of construction have been to replacing With the passage of the years fact that surely will continue presenting. This paper presents the results of a search and collection of information about the development and implementation of geosynthetics materials in our country, much of this information was provided by the most representative institutes in the country. Based on this documentation the first part of this article contains a brief history and introduction to geosynthetics materials available in the market. The second part does an analysis of the commercial sector and then a technical study of the use given to this materials in the country, therefore we will be able to conclude the current state of geosynthetics in Colombia and generate critical knowledge on the issue in our country.
