dc.description.abstract	El cáncer de seno es una enfermedad que afecta en la mayoría de casos a las mujeres, y se ha convertido en una problemática que agudiza, aumentando las tasas de mortalidad en mujeres por esta enfermedad. El cáncer es curable si se detecta en sus etapas iníciales, por esto la promoción de la realización del autoexamen para la detección temprana. El objetivo principal de la investigación es identificar las características socio- demográficas de las mujeres que acudieron a consulta de seno en la Liga Santandereana Contra el Cáncer durante el año 2012.La investigación realizada fue cuantitativa, descriptiva de corte transversal, se utilizaron las variables demográfica, económica y social para identificar y analizar la incidencia de estas en el cáncer de seno. La población fue 3166 mujeres que acudieron a consulta de seno durante el año 2012. El tipo de muestreo fue probabilístico con selección sistemática, y con representación de 357 mujeres usuarias; la técnica utilizada para la recolección de datos fue la encuesta telefónica. Los resultados indican que la mayoría de mujeres usuarias se encuentran en el rango de edad de 35 a 50 años, tiene pareja permanente, desempeñan labores de ama de casa, y el mayor grado de escolaridad formal alcanzado es de bachillerato, pertenecen al nivel de estratificación medio, bajo-bajo, conocen sobre el cáncer de seno, pero aun así no se realiza el auto examen de seno mensualmente, y por último no consumen en su dieta diaria frutas y verduras. Estos resultados obtenidos tienen concordancia con diversos estudios, donde se concluye que la mayoría de mujeres de consulta y diagnosticadas con cáncer de seno son de edad adulta, casadas, amas de casa, con nivel de estratificación medio-bajo, y con estudios de secundaria como máxima escolaridad formal alcanzada, y la mayoría presenta obesidad.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The cáncer of breast is a disease that affects in the majority of cases the women, and it has turned into a problematic that it sharpens, increasing the rates of mortality in women for this disease. The cáncer is curable if it is detected in his stages initiate, for this the promotion of the accomplishment of the auto examination for the early detection. The principal objective of the investigation is the Characterization partner - demographic of the women who came to consultation of breast in the League Santandereana against the Cancer during the year 2012. The realized investigation was quantitative, descriptive of transverse court; the variables were in use demographic, economic and social to identify and to analyze the incident of these in the cáncer of breast. The population was 3166 women who came to consultation of breast during the year 2012. The type of sampling was random with systematic selection and with representation of 357 women users; the technique used for the compilation of information was the telephonic survey. The results indicate that the majority of women users are in the range of age from 35 to 50 years, they have permanent pair, they perform housewife's labors and the major level of formal education reached is of baccalaureate, they belongs at the level of stratification average, low - low, is known on the cáncer of breast, but even like that they do not realize the auto examination of breast monthly, and finally they do not consume in their daily diet fruits and vegetables. These obtained results have correspondence with diverse studies, where one concludes that the majority of women of consultation and diagnosed with cáncer of breast they are of adult age, married, housewives, average-low level of stratification and with studies of secondary as maximum formal reached education, and the majority presents obesity.
