Telecom fue una de las empresas estatales más importantes, estratégicas y productivas del siglo XX hasta su privatización en el año2003 por el gobierno de Uribe Vélez. En su interior, se vivieron las luchas sindicales de los trabajadores de las telecomunicaciones,organizados en distintos sindicatos: el sindicato de base SITTELECOM, la ASITEL y la ATT. Las distintas corrientes de izquierda sedisputaban la hegemonía sindical en una constante lucha contra la corrupción de las directivas de la empresa. En la actualidad, nohay un archivo de los sindicatos de Telecom, pues la persecución estatal terminó por eliminar la documentación organizada de estossindicatos. Sin embargo, a través de la recopilación de archivos personales de sus trabajadores, que contienen las publicaciones delos trabajadores organizados, se hace una primera reconstrucción de esta necesaria historia para conocer las luchas del sindicalismo colombiano. Los trabajadores de Telecom fueron el primer ejemplo de resistencia contra la implementación del neoliberalismo, de la misma manera fueron los primeros en los que se aplicaron las tácticas y estrategias de esta política económica.

Inside it, the union struggles of the telecommunications workers organized in different unions were lived: the base union SITTELECOM, the ASITEL and the ATT. The different currents of the left disputed the union hegemony in aconstant fight against the corruption of the directives of the company. At present there is no archive of the Telecom unions because the state persecution ended up eliminating the organized documentation of these unions. However, through the collection of personal files of its workers that contain the publications of organized workers, a first reconstruction of this necessary history is made to know the struggles of Colombian unionism. Telecom workers were the first example of resistance against the implementation of neoliberalism, in the same way they were the first in which the tactics and strategies of this economic policy were applied.
