RESUMENSe describe una nueva subespecie de toxodóntido procedente del pleistoceno del norte de Colombia: Mixotoxodon larensis crusafonti. Entre las diferencias morfológicas más notables se señalan la reducción del metacónido y del surco meta-entocónido. La aplicación de criterios de diferenciación subespecífica permiten separar estadísticamente la subespecie colombiana de la especie de Venezuela. ABSTRACTA new subspecies of toxodotidae from the pleistocene from Nothern Colombia is described: Mixotoxodon larensis crusafonti. Among the principal morfological differences it is call the attention to the reduction of the metaconid and of the fold meta-entoconid. Using the knowledge about subspecifical differentiation it is possible to make statistical distintion between the colombian subspecies and the Venezuela species.
