ResumenLa investigación es el aspecto más importante en la formación de un historiador aunque el constituirse en una actividad reducida a los últimos semestres del plan de estudio hace necesario implementar estrategias como la investigación integral para propiciar un proceso de formación transversal, integral, competente y de carácter permanente para los estudiantes desde los primeros semestres hasta la conclusión del proyecto de investigación final. La investigación integral busca formar historiadores capaces de ser investigadores profesionales, universitarios comprometidos con el mejoramiento de la profesión del historiador, ciudadanos participes de los procesos de evaluación institucional, e investigadores comprometidos con los procesos de aprendizaje de la Historia. Palabras claves: Historia, Investigación, investigación histórica, historiador, investigación integral SUMMARY The investigation is the most important aspect in the formation of a historian although it has been constituted in a reduced activity to the last semesters of the study plan has necessary to implement strategies like integral investigation to propitiate a process of traversal, integral, competent formation and of permanent character for the students from the first semesters until the conclusion of the project of final investigation. The Integral investigation want to educate historians competent to be professional investigators, investigators compromised with the improvement of the professional historian, citizens participants of the process of institutional evaluation, and investigators compromised with the process of learning of the History.
