RESUMENSer docente universitario en el mundo pos-moderno del Siglo XXI y en un país que no alcanza su desarrollo social principalmente por graves defectos de intolerancia, que lo mantienen en guerra y con una insuficiente inversión en salud y educación, no es una tarea fácil; requiere de los conocimientos y de las experiencias del saber pedagógico, y sobre todo de una motivación excepcional y loable de formar seres humanos capaces de enfrentarse a la realidad del eclecticismo y del caos circundante, donde los valores éticos y los principios fundamentales del amor y del respeto a la vida, no son las bases sólidas de la mayoría de las juventudes modernas que se han dejado llevar por la vida fácil y la pereza.Palabras clave: Universidad, sociedad, docencia, investigación, extensión universitaria, postmodernismo, formación integral.ABSTRACTA university teacher in the postmodern world of the 21st century in a country that doesn’t have it’s social development principally for serious faults of intolerance, which support it in war and an insufficient investment in health and education, is not an easy task; it needs the knowledge and the experiences of the pedagogic art, and especially of an exceptional and coomendable motivation of form human beings abble of facing the reality of the eclecticism and of the surrounding chaos, where the ethical values and the fundamental beginning of the love and of the respect to the life are not the solid bases of the majority of the modern youths that have been left to go for the easy life and the laziness.Key words: University, society, teaching, investigation, university services, postmodern world, holistic education.
