RESUMENNos proponemos en este artículo plantear que la filosofía de la ciencia no puede seguirse considerando únicamente como una actividad epistémica y metodológica, sino también como actividad axiológica, en el sentido de que su reflexión no debe apuntar solamente al cómo se han desarrollado las teorías científicas, sino también al deber ser de la ciencia, promoviendo nuevos valores tanto epistémicos como prácticos dentro del quehacer científico, y enfatizando sobre la responsabilidad ética y social delinvestigador.
SUMMARYThis article proposes that the philosophy of science can not be considered only as an episternic and methodological activity anymore. This is because of the fact that its reflections should not be only directed to explain how thes cientific theories have been developed but also to the duties of science and in doing so promoting new values both epistemic and practical inside thescientific task and also emphasizing on the ethic and social responsability of the researcher.
