dc.description.abstractEste proyecto de grado tiene como objetivo principal la identificación del mapa como fuente histórica, mediante un diálogo interdisciplinario entre historia y cartografía dando cumplimiento a un proceso cartográfico e investigativo al georreferenciar diversos mapas pertenecientes al siglo XlX. Lo anterior se fundamenta y consolida, mediante la recuperación, conservación, y difusión de mapas de Colombia y países vecinos desde el siglo XVI hasta el siglo XX, disponibles e incluidos dentro del proyecto Mapoteca Digital de la Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia. Con el fin, de dar cumplimiento al objetivo principal, se propuso un procedimiento metodológico y unos objetivos de apoyo, dentro de los que se cuentan: Contribuir a las actividades de investigación e identificación de material patrimonial de interés cartográfico en el marco del proyecto Mapoteca Digital adelantadas por la Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia. Advertir sobre la importancia de la cartografía en la investigación histórica, analizando el mapa como fuente pertinente y necesaria para dicha investigación. Sugerir la vinculación del estudio cartográfico y el ejercicio de georreferenciación dentro del proceso de investigación de la disciplina histórica. Dar a conocer ante la comunidad universitaria mediante la divulgación del proyecto, el convenio que se gestó entre el Ministerio de Cultura, la Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia y la Universidad Industrial de Santander, el cual permite la participación de estudiantes y profesores en proyectos generados por los entes administrativos de la Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia y otras entidades manejadas desde el Ministerio de Cultura.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe main objective of this final degree project is to identify the map as a historical source, through interdisciplinarity between History and Cartography. The cartographic and investigative process consisted by georeferencing different maps of 19th Century. The motivation is to recover, preserve, conservation and disseminate the maps of Colombia and neighboring countries from 16th century to 20th century available in the Digital Map Library of the Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia. The secondary objectives that support this work are: Contribute to the activities of research and identification of heritage material of cartographic interest, as part of the Digital Map Library project by the Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia. Emphasize the importance of cartography in historical research, analyzing the map as a relevant and necessary source. Link the cartographic study with the exercise of georeferencing in the research process of historical discipline. Disseminate the project to the students to publicize the agreement between the Ministerio de Cultura, Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia and the Universidad Industrial de Santander, which allows students and teachers to participate in projects of the Biblioteca Nacional de Colombia and other entities associated to the Ministerio de Cultura.
