dc.description.abstractEl tema central del presente libro es la descripción de los gerentes del Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga en cuanto a su estilo de liderazgo. Adicionalmente se establece la actualidad de las investigaciones en la última década enfocadas en la identificación de estilos de liderazgo. Unido a esto, se desarrolló un trabajo de campo a partir de la aplicación de un formulario de preguntas, diseñado por Lee Bolman y Terrence Deal, a una muestra representativa de gerentes en los sectores económicos primario, secundario y terciario. Como resultado se encontró que los gerentes tienden a diferenciarse, con mayor frecuencia, mediante características tales como el establecimiento de reglas claras, dirección a través del análisis, definición de roles específicos para las personas, entre otras. En contraste, se identifican con menor frecuencia mediante características como la negociación de compromisos, construcción de alianzas, resolución de conflictos, entre otras. En el capítulo uno se hace una descripción del proyecto a través de la justificación, planteamiento del problema, objetivos general y específicos. En esencia, este capítulo recoge algunas de las motivaciones que llevaron a la realización de la investigación, así como su delimitación y características particulares. En el capítulo dos se agrupan los resultados relacionados al primer objetivo específico de la investigación que es establecer la actualidad de las investigaciones en la última década enfocadas a identificar estilos de liderazgo, para ello se realizó una búsqueda, análisis y organización de la información relevante y existente en las bases de datos. El proceso sistemático utilizado para el cumplimento de los objetivos se sitúa en el capítulo tres. En este se describe lo relacionado al cálculo de la muestra, criterios de selección de la literatura y matriz para seleccionar el instrumento. Por último, el capítulo cuatro agrupa los resultados del trabajo de campo y la descripción de las características de liderazgo en los gerentes.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe main subject of this book is managers™ description of the Bucaramanga™s metropolitan área in regard to their leadership style. Additionally it is established the currently of the researches in the last decade, focused on the identity of the leadership styles. Connected to it, it was developed a fieldwork from the implementation of a questionnaire designed by Lee Bolman and Terrence Deal, a representative sample of managers in the economical sectors: primary, secondary and tertiary. As the result of it, it was found that the majority of the managers tend to identify themselves with characteristics such as the establishment of clear rules, leadership through the analysis, definition of specific roles to the employees, among others. In contrast, they are identified with minor frequency with characteristics such as negotiation of compromises, alliances construction, solving conflicts, among others. In the first chapter, it is made a description of the project through the justification, proposal of the topic, general and specific aims. In essence, this chapter represents the motivations that brought us to the development of the research as well as its delimitation and particular characteristics. The second chapter grouped the results related with the first specific aim of the investigation. It consists of establishing the currently of the researches in the last decade, focused on identity the leadership styles. To achieve it, it was made a research, analysis and organization of the relevant information and the existent in the databases. The description of the systematic process used to the fulfillment of the aims is in the third chapter. In this chapter is described the calculus of the sample, selection criteria of the literature and the matrix to select the instrument. Lastly, the fourth chapter grouped the results of the fieldwork and the description of the characteristics of the leadership in the managers.
