dc.description.abstractEn la actualidad la preservación y conservación del medio ambiente constituye uno de los grandes desafíos de la humanidad, la acumulación de residuos poliméricos postconsumo constituye uno de los problemas ambientales de mayor relevancia dada su permanencia en los rellenos sanitarios. A partir de la problemática ambiental generada nace la necesidad de implementar mejoras tecnológicas para una producción limpia y amigable que permita la creación de materiales biodegradables, que genere la menor cantidad de residuos o en caso contrario puedan reciclarse. En este trabajo de investigación se desarrolló una descomposición termocatalítica donde se evaluaron diferentes catalizadores sólidos y/o líquidos como: TiO2, ZnO, B2O3, NiO, polvo de vidrio, CaO, CuO, H3PO4 y clinoptilolita junto al polimetilmetacrilato
dc.description.abstractenglishCurrently the preservation and conservation of the environment is one of the great challenges facing humanity, the accumulation of postconsumer plastic waste is one of the most important environmental problems because of their permanence in landfills. From the environmental problems generated comes the need to implement technological improvements for a clean and friendly production that allows the creation of biodegradable materials that generates the least amount of wastes or otherwise can be recycled. In this research one thermocatalytic decomposition developed where were evaluated different solids and liquid catalysts that: TiO2, ZnO, B2O3, NiO, glass powder, CaO, CuO, H3PO4 and clinoptilolite with polymethylmethacrylate waste from Acrilicos y avisos Bucaramanga. The result of the process allowed obtained methyl methacrylate as the main product at temperatures between 150-300 °C, characterized by techniques such as IR-ATR spectroscopy and gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry to verify the presence of the monomer. The catalysts used were also characterized by IR-ATR spectroscopy to ensure efficient reuse in the subsequent depolymerization. In this research was designed a working reactor for carrying out the depolymerization, thus performing a simple, fast and efficient process. Polymethylmethacrylate was successfully depolymerized and their respective methyl methacrylate monomer was obtained with a purity of 90% and a yield of 88%.
