Se abordan temas teóricos que son necesarios para la comprensión y el manejo del programa, tales como sismología, respuesta de los suelos ante eventos sísmicos, efectos locales o de sitio,
dc.description.abstractenglishThis article is focused on using the program QUAKE / W for the modeling of shallow foundations floors (footings) that are affected by earthquakes. Deal with some theoretical issues that are necessary for the understanding and management of the program, such as seismology, soil response to seismic events, local effects or site, dynamic soil properties that affect their response, such as the shear modulus, G, the damping factor , , Poisson's module, , unit weight of the material, , the angle of friction, the cohesive force between the particles that make up, among others parameters, and taking into account the role of shear modulus reduction. The authors make use of the software QUAKE / W, with the handling of this central theme graduation project which is developed through a detailed research program management QUAKE / W and collects the necessary information for modeling in this, also performs an example of how modeling in QUAKE / W, describing the input parameters, output data, interpretation of results, etc. It is said about the determination of some of these input parameters with equations proposed by scientists and others. It presents a didactic exercise program showing the use and interpretation of some results offered.
