dc.description.abstractEste trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar las diferencias salariales por género en la ciudad de Medellín para el año 2019, teniendo en cuenta el comportamiento del mercado laboral de Medellín, las políticas públicas de igualdad de género en el ámbito laboral de la ciudad, todo esto con el fin de determinar en qué medida el método de Oaxaca-Blinder sobreestima el diferencial salarial. Para esto, se abordó una metodología cuantitativa donde se tienen en cuenta ciertas variables que influyen en el desarrollo de la brecha salarial, tomando en cuenta la información que brinda la Gran Encuesta Integrada de Hogares del Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística - DANE. Como resultado, se obtuvo que efectivamente se presentó una discriminación salarial en cuanto al género en la ciudad de Medellín en el año 2019, lo que apunta a la necesidad de implementar nuevas políticas que fomenten la igualdad en los salarios de hombres y mujeres sin dejar de lado las condiciones laborales de cada uno.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe objective of this paper is to analyze the wage gap by gender in the city of Medellin for the year 2019, taking into account the behavior of the labor market in Medellin, the public policies of gender equality in the labor sphere of the city, all this in order to determine to what extent the Oaxaca-Blinder method overestimates the wage differential. For this objective, a quantitative methodology was used, taking into account certain variables that influence the development of the wage gap, taking into account the information provided by the “Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística” DANE's Gran Encuesta Integrada de Hogares (Large Integrated Household Survey). As a result, it was obtained that there was indeed a wage discrimination in terms of gender in the city of Medellin in 2019, which points to the need to implement new policies that promote equality in wages for men and women without neglecting the working conditions of each one.
