dc.description.abstractEste proyecto de grado tiene como objetivo plantear el diseño de un pozo multilateral para las condiciones del Bloque Tayrona, en la cuenca Guajira Offshore localizada en el Caribe Colombiano. Para esto se contó con la ayuda de la herramienta computacional Compass de la compañía Halliburton. Para conocer las generalidades de la técnica, las alternativas existentes tanto convencionales como modernas y las variables operacionales que inciden en la perforación de este tipo de pozos, se llevó a cabo una revisión bibliográfica. Adicionalmente, se realizó un estudio de la geología y características metoceánicas de la zona de interés, así como un estudio de las herramientas utilizadas previamente en este tipo de escenarios, con el fin de determinar la viabilidad del uso de la tecnología multilateral, y las ventajas de esta sobre otras técnicas para la perforación de pozos en el caso planteado. Por último, se realizó el diseño del pozo multilateral UIS-OFF-MO1, el cual cuenta con dos ramificaciones opuestas con el objetivo de incrementar la producción en el yacimiento del pozo Orca-1 mediante el aumento del área de drenaje en la formación que este contacta, así como el alcance de una sección del estrato que se encuentra separada por una falla normal de no flujo.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis degree project aims to propose the design of a multilateral well for the conditions of the Tayrona Sector, in the Guajira Offshore basin located in the Colombian Caribbean. This was performed with the help of the Halliburton Company’s software Compass software. To delve in generalities of this technique, the existing conventional and modern alternatives and the operational variables influencing on the drilling of this type of wells, a bibliographic review was carried out. A further study of the area of interest was carried out. This includes a review of the geology and metocean characteristics, as well as a study of the tools previously used in this type of scenario, in order to determine the viability of the use of multilateral technology, and the advantages of this on other techniques for drilling wells in the case raised. Finally, the design of the multilateral well UIS-OFF-MO1 was accomplished, this was designed using two opposite branches with the objective of increasing production in the Orca-1 reservoir by increasing the drainage area in the formation it contacts, as well as the extent in a section of the stratum separated by a normal no-flow fault.
