dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación estudia un fenómeno tratado por la filosofía política que tiene una importancia fundamental para el futuro político de nuestra sociedad, “la crisis de la democracia”. Los estudios en esta materia se realizan desde hace varios años, pero se ha incrementado notoriamente la discusión frente al tema, debido a los problemas y los fracasos que enfrentan los gobiernos democráticos del mundo en la actualidad. El Estado democrático parece cada vez más incapaz de resolver los percances que se le presentan, de satisfacer las necesidades de la sociedad que regula y de participar de la solución a los grandes problemas de la humanidad. El miedo se extiende en los ciudadanos, quienes temen la desaparición de la democracia y con ella de los derechos y las libertades tan arduamente ganados en las luchas que han tomado siglos. Lo novedoso en este estudio es que pretende tomar distancia de las posturas más tradiciones en torno a la democracia, así como buscar respuestas y explicaciones alternativas. Para ello, se analizan otras investigaciones que proponen elementos e interpretaciones innovadoras de cara a la democracia en general y a su presunta crisis en particular. Esta investigación también ahonda en esta temática a partir de planteamientos de la filosofía política de Michel Foucault, centrándose en las ideas respecto del poder y sus mecanismos, en especial el dispositivo de saber-poder. Todo ello con la finalidad de procurar responder a los interrogantes ¿se encuentra realmente en crisis la democracia? ¿Y es este un presagio de su caída o es otro el significado de esta crisis para el régimen democrático?
dc.description.abstractenglishThe following investigation studies a phenomenon treated by political philosophy, which is of fundamental importance for the political future of our society, "the crisis of democracy". Studies on this matter have been carried out for several years, but the discussion on the subject has increased notoriously, due to the problems and failures that democratic governments in the world face today. The democratic State seems increasingly incapable of solving the issues that arise when satisfying the needs of the society it regulates and of participating in the solution to the great problems of humanity as well. Fear spreads among citizens, who are afraid of the disappearance of democracy, and with it, the rights and freedom so hard-achieved in the struggles that have taken centuries. What is new in this study is that it aims to distance itself from the most traditional positions regarding democracy, as well as to seek alternative answers and explanations. For this matter, other investigations that propose innovative elements and interpretations are analyzed facing democracy in general and its alleged crisis in particular. This research also probe into this theme from the perspectives of Michel Foucault's political philosophy, focusing on the ideas regarding power and its mechanisms, especially the device of knowledge-power. All this in order to try to answer the questions: is democracy really going through a crisis? And is this an omen of its fall or is the meaning of this crisis different for the democratic regime?
