dc.description.abstractEl proyecto, Plan de Desarrollo de la Escuela de Ingeniería Metalúrgica y Ciencia de Materiales, tiene como objetivo establecer un proceso de mejoramiento de la infraestructura física y tecnológica de los laboratorios de la Escuela, así como el perfeccionamiento del talento humano para preparar las condiciones básicas de soporte para las actividades de investigación, extensión y de docencia de los Programas de Pregrado y Posgrado. En la realización de dicho proyecto, se considera la masa crítica de profesores como expertos en relación con el desarrollo académico de la Escuela y los pares académicos del reciente proceso de acreditación del programa de pregrado, quienes conceptuaron y recomendaron acerca del estado actual y mejoramiento de las actividades de la Escuela. Para la elaboración del Plan, en primer lugar, se construye una visión compartida que identifica los aspectos estratégicos en los cuales se debe concentrar la atención para alcanzar los objetivos a futuro. Posteriormente, se desarrolla el análisis interno y externo de la Escuela, donde se analizan los factores importantes para el desarrollo de las actividades académicas, con el fin de identificar fortalezas, debilidades, amenazas y oportunidades. Luego, con la ayuda del método DOFA, se realiza el cruce de dichas variables, para obtener los componentes de estrategia. Éstos componentes son depurados por medio de la metodología del Análisis Estructural que favorece la selección de variables representativas las cuales juegan un papel importante en el planteamiento de objetivos estratégicos. Finalmente, se diseña un plan estratégico que contiene los objetivos estratégicos dentro de los cuales se formularon líneas de acción que la Escuela debería favorecer para mejorar su desempeño y dar respuesta a las necesidades del entorno. Seguidamente, dichas actividades son programadas presupuestalmente dentro de un plan operativo que permitirá avanzar en el logro de objetivos y metas trazadas, para los años 2010 a 2015.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis project, known as Development Plan of the School of Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science, aims to establish a process for improving the physical and technological infrastructure of laboratories in the School of Metallurgical Engineering, so as the improvement of human talent of School to prepare the basic conditions of support for research, extension and teaching activities of Undergraduate Programs, Masters, and PhD in Material Engineering. In carrying out this project, the critical mass of teachers and experts is considered in relation to the academic development of the School and academic peers of the recent accreditation process of undergraduate program, who conceptualized and recommended on the current status and improvement School activities. For developing the plan, first, a shared vision is built that identifies the strategic issues on which attention should be focused to achieve the objectives for the future. Later, the analysis of internal and external conditions of the school, is developed where we analyze the important factors for the development of academic activities, in order to identify strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities. Then with the help of the SWOT method is performed crossing these variables, to obtain the components of strategy. These components are purified by the method of structural analysis that favors the selection of representative variables which play an important role in the formulation of strategic objectives. Finally, a strategic plan is designed which contains strategic objectives within which lines of action were made that the College should encourage to improve their performance and respond to the needs of the environment. Subsequently, these activities are within a budget program operating plan will advance the achievement of objectives and targets set for the years 2010-2015.
