dc.description.abstractCantos de piedra, es la representación artística del trabajo de la talla en piedra de tres generaciones de la familia Pereira en el municipio de San Gil, Santander. El proyecto se basa en la captura de los diferentes sonidos que surgen en el proceso de transformación del material, divididos en tres etapas que son: la cantera, el taller y el terminado de las obras. Los sonidos fueron seleccionados, editados y se grabaron en tres dispositivos de audio, cada amplificador contiene una serie de ocho sonidos que corresponden a cada una de las etapas seleccionadas, los cuales se instalaron en la parte superior del techo, sobre tres piedras alargadas o menhir que son la representación simbólica de cada generación. Los sonidos que acompañan el oficio de tallar la piedra se constituyen en un lenguaje que nos comunica el sentido de los diferentes momentos, movimientos, técnicas y ritmos que acompañan el proceso de la transformación de la piedra. Esta investigación plantea un acercamiento al oficio de la talla llevado a cabo por tres generaciones de mi familia, para construir una representación artística que cristalice la memoria de la práctica del oficio y el valor de las técnicas tradicionales y son llevados a la sala de exposición formando una instalación sonora que dialoga, ya que los materiales utilizados como la piedra y los elementos sonoros provienen del mismo material.
dc.description.abstractenglishStone songs, is the artistic representation of the stone carving work of three generations of the Pereira family in the municipality of San Gil, Santander. The project is based on capturing the different sounds that arise in the material transformation process, divided into three stages: the quarry, the workshop and the completion of the works. The sounds were selected, edited and recorded on three audio devices, each amplifier contains a series of eight sounds that correspond to each of the selected stages, which were installed on the top of the roof, on three elongated stones or menhir that are the symbolic representation of each generation. The sounds that accompany the craft of stone carving are constituted in a language that communicates the meaning of the different moments, movements, techniques and rhythms that accompany the process of stone transformation. This research proposes an approach to the craft of carving carried out by three generations of my family, to build an artistic representation that crystallizes the memory of the practice of the craft and the value of traditional techniques, and they are brought to the exhibit forming a sound installation that dialogues, since the materials used such as stone and sound elements come from the same material.
