dc.description.abstractLa Biblioteca de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, fiel a su misión de ser un centro de información para la comunidad educativa, ha venido reinventándose para mantener su identidad y el desarrollo de las colecciones que forman parte de su patrimonio bibliográfico, mediante una infraestructura tecnológica que le permite acomodarse a un nuevo ecosistema digital y ofrecer mejores servicios, más personalizados y adaptados a las necesidades de sus usuarios. El presente proyecto consiste en el diseño, desarrollo e implementación de un sistema de información web que permite organizar y gestionar los datos históricos del material bibliográfico en formato físico y las operaciones de circulación y préstamo de la Biblioteca UIS, que se encuentran actualmente almacenados en el Sistema de Gestión de Bibliotecas LIBRUIS, con el fin de resguardarlos ante una actualización a un nuevo sistema, llevar un mejor control de esta información y brindar la posibilidad de realizar consultas en tiempo real, para su posterior análisis y presentación de informes relacionados con cantidades de material, áreas del conocimiento, tipos de adquisición, colecciones y uso por parte de los usuarios, entre otros; lo cual sirve de apoyo para dar respuesta oportuna a las solicitudes realizadas por diferentes unidades académico administrativas de la universidad, además, para la toma de decisiones al interior de la Biblioteca, acorde con el cumplimento de sus objetivos misionales.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe Library of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, faithful to its mission of being an information center for the educational community, has been reinventing itself to maintain its identity and the development of the collections that are part of its bibliographic heritage, through technological infrastructure that allows it to adapt to a new digital ecosystem and offer better services, more personalized and adapted to the needs of its users. This project consists of the design, development and implementation of a web information system that allows to organize and manage the historical data of the bibliographic material in physical format and the circulation and loan operations of the UIS Library, which are currently stored in the LIBRUIS Library Management System, in order to safeguard them in case of an update to a new system, keep a better control of this information and provide the possibility of real-time queries, for subsequent analysis and presentation of reports related to quantities of material, areas of knowledge, types of acquisition, collections and use by users, among others; This serves as support for timely response to requests made by different academic and administrative units of the university, as well as for decision making within the Library, in accordance with the fulfillment of its mission objectives.
