dc.description.abstractAcción Cultural Popular fue una institución de educación no formal que nació de la línea del catolicismo social y tuvo como finalidad brindar educación y dignificar la vida del campesino colombiano. Su aporte a la educación rural en la segunda mitad del siglo XX ha sido analizado en gran parte por la Ciencias Humanas, pero, su labor religiosa ha sido poco valorada por las investigaciones. Por lo tanto, esta investigación analiza en el periodo comprendido entre 1958 y 1974 las representaciones religiosas que emitió Acción Cultural Popular, y se indaga sobre el tipo de campesino cristiano que quiso moldear. Así mismo, se analizan los cambios que surgieron en estos dos elementos surgidos a causas de las orientaciones del Concilio Vaticano II. Metodológicamente, se realiza un análisis de la fuente documental a partir de los criterios teóricos de François Houtart relacionados a la dialéctica. Se concluye que Acción Cultural Popular emitió un conjunto de representaciones religiosas e intentó forjar un campesino cristiano acorde a las exigencias del contexto social. Además, se evidencia que ACPO fue una institución fiel al Concilio Vaticano II al haber implementado en su discurso dichas orientaciones, especialmente en las representaciones religiosas y el modelo de campesino cristiano.
dc.description.abstractenglishPopular Cultural Action was a non-formal educational institution grounded in the foundations of social Catholicism Social Teaching, whose primary aim was to provide education and to dignify the life of the Colombian peasantry. While its contribution to rural education in the second half of the 20th century has been widely analyzed within the Humanities, its religious repercussion has been little valued by academic research. This study, therefore, analyzes the religious representations disseminated by Popular Cultural Action between the 1958-1974 period and explores the type of Christian peasant the institution sought to shape. Likewise, the changes that arose in these two elements due to the orientations of the Second Vatican Council are also examined. Methodologically, the research undertakes a documentary source analysis based on the theoretical framework of François Houtart, particularly his dialectical approach. The study concludes that Popular Cultural Action articulated a series of religious representations and endeavoured to forge a Christian peasant identity aligned with the demands of the prevailing social context. Furthermore, the findings reveal that ACPO was a faithful adherent to the principles of the Second Vatican Council, incorporating its directives, particularly in its religious representations and vision of the Christian peasant, into its institutional discourse.
