dc.description.abstract | Esta investigaciŠn propone una relaciŠn entre la Densidad Aparente de Fibras (DAF) y las propiedades mec⁄nicas de la Guadua Angustifolia Kunth (GAK). Para ello se tomaron muestras a tres diferentes alturas (cepa, basa, y sobrebasa) de la guadua y se caracterizaron mec⁄nicamente encontrando su resistencia a compresiŠn longitudinal, flexiŠn y tracciŠn longitudinal; as™ mismo, mediante microscop™a Šptica de campo amplio se determinŠ la densidad aparente de fibras sobre las secciones transversales con el uso de un protocolo desarrollado para tal fin. Se estudiŠ la variaciŠn de las propiedades mec⁄nicas con respecto a la variaciŠn de las dimensiones de la secciŠn transversal y el espesor; se realizŠ el an⁄lisis de la variaciŠn de la densidad aparente de fibras en cada secciŠn y se comparŠ con sus di⁄metros, espesores y propiedades mec⁄nicas. Se encontrŠ que la resistencia mec⁄nica del material aumenta con el aumento de la densidad aparente de fibras; tendencia que aumenta con la mayor altura de la secciŠn analizada y con la disminuciŠn del espesor del material. La GAK muestra mayores resistencias a la tracciŠn longitudinal y la flexiŠn que a la compresiŠn longitudinal. Finalmente, se estableciŠ una relaciŠn matem⁄tica entre la densidad aparente de fibras y los valores de resistencia ante las diferentes solicitaciones para caracterizar mec⁄nicamente el material mediante m”todos de microscop™a Šptica de campo amplio. | |
dc.description.abstractenglish | This research propounds a relationship between the fibers density and the mechanical properties of Guadua Angustifolia Kunth (GAK). For that purpose samples were taken from three different heights of the culm (bottom, middle and top) and also the mechanical characterization of the material was made after the longitudinal compressive stress, bending and longitudinal tensile strength were found; likewise, by wide-field optical microscopy cross sections were observed respectively in order to determine the fibers density, for which an appropriate protocol was developed. The variation of mechanical properties was analyzed with respect to the variation of the cross-sectional dimensions and thickness; the analysis of variations of specific gravity was performed in the same sections and was compared in turn with the respective diameters, thicknesses, and mechanical properties. It was found that the mechanical strength of the material increases with the increasing of fiber density; this trend is favored by increasing the height of the section analyzed and the reduction of material thickness. The GAK shows higher resistances to the longitudinal traction and flexural stress instead of the longitudinal compressive load. Finally, it was established a mathematical relationship between the fibers specific gravity and the values of resistance to the different stresses in order to characterize mechanically the material by wide-field optical microscopy methods. | |
