dc.description.abstractLa gestión deficiente de las aguas residuales genera problemas de insalubridad, al ser foco de varias enfermedades. En asentamientos no planificados, las comunidades carecen de acceso al alcantarillado, obligando a sus habitantes a gestionar su propio sistema, sin tomar en cuenta los criterios técnicos adecuados para su funcionamiento. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo diagnosticar el sistema de recolección y transporte de aguas residuales en tres asentamientos no planificados de Bucaramanga, inspeccionando las estructuras que lo conforman. Se visitaron tres asentamientos ubicados en el norte de la ciudad: Miradores de la UIS, Porvenir y Santos Bajo. Primero, se formularon los protocolos de geolocalización e inspección; segundo, se desarrollaron las salidas de geolocalización e inspección; tercero, se diagnosticó el sistema, comparando las estructuras inspeccionadas con los valores recomendados por la normativa. Un 83% de la infraestructura del sistema estaba en buenas condiciones, sus parámetros de diseño y funcionamiento no cumplen con la normativa actual. El desarrollo del diagnóstico sienta un precedente para el estudio de los sistemas de recolección y transporte de aguas residuales en asentamientos no planificados, marginalizados por sus condiciones económicas y sociales.
dc.description.abstractenglishPoor wastewater management generates unsanitary problems, as it is the focus of several diseases such as cholera, hepatitis, and dysentery. In unplanned settlements, as they lack access to sanitary sewage, forcing their inhabitants to manage their own systems. The absence of a regulatory entity during the design and execution of these self-managed systems generates deficiencies in operation and infrastructure, as systems are not developed fulfilling standards. This research aims to assess the wastewater collection and transport system in the unplanned settlements in the Bucaramanga, surveying the system structures and evaluating the indicators in accordance with current regulations. To do this, three settlements were analyzed: Miradores de la UIS, Porvenir y Santos Bajo. First, geolocation and inspection protocols of the system structures were formulated. Second, visits to implement the geolocation and inspection protocols were developed. Third, the system assessment was carried out, comparing the indicators with reviewed standards, which included a map of the infrastructure. Although 83% of the system's infrastructure was in good condition, its design and operating parameters do not comply with current regulations. The development of the assessment sets a precedent for the investigation of wastewater collection and transportation systems in unplanned settlements.
