dc.description.abstractenglishIn this work we show a numerical study in finite difference for a solution of the elastic equationsin a flat medium, using discretization for the momentum conservation equations and the stressrelations for SH-wave, P-wave and the SV-wave. We used operators of second-order in thespace and fourth-order in the time for the schemes in finite differences method using theconcept of staggered grid propose for Virieux (1986) Furthermore, we studied the consistency, stability and convergence of the method based of the Von Neumann analysis. In the model computational constructed we consider Dirichlet borders in the edges top and bottom, and borders not reflected in the lateral edges we represent a semi-infinite medium.The source of the wave was simulated by Gauss’s function, defined a node of the regioncomputational and assign with him to the stress. Based on the previous we simulate computational the wave propagations in medium elastic, homogeneous, as well for the mediumsemi-homogeneous and for the medium with polar anisotropic (transversal horizontal isotropic) The significant to contribute of this work is the seismic modeling of the important speedmodel of Marmousi and the construction of codes for the later implementation in the tools of processing geophysics of Exploration of the Colombian Institute of Petroleum.
