dc.description.abstractEste trabajo es un análisis estratigráfico de las rocas sedimentarias del Cretácico inferior específicamente la Formación Tibasosa (Hauteriviano Temprano- Albiano tardío) en la cuenca de la Cordillera Oriental, en los alrededores del Municipio de Sogamoso, departamento de Boyacá, permitieron en un principio caracterizar las facies para así determinar las características y ambientes de depositación de cada uno de los cuatro miembros que conforman a la Formación Tibasosa, los cuales fueron descritos inicialmente por Renzoni (1981) y fueron utilizados en el presente estudio. Se definieron siete facies las cuales permitieron determinar los ambientes de depositación característicos de la Formación Tibasosa en el área de estudio. El ambiente de depositación del miembro basal se define como de tipo continental, fluvial, ríos trenzados y meandriformes para la parte basal atestiguado por la presencia de conglomerados heterogéneos, de tipo marino, de llanura de marea y lagoon, para la parte media con presencia de calizas detríticas con intercalaciones con areniscas y lodolitas, y finalmente la parte superior es un ambiente de plataforma interna y lagoon, representada por una intercalación entre calizas y lodolitas. La secuencia corresponde a un avance marino sobre el continente en el Cretácico, donde se dio la gran inundación a finales del Cretácico Inferior, entonces los ambientes sedimentarios definidos en el presente trabajo corroboran dicha información.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis work is a stratigraphical analysis of the sedimentary rocks of the lower Cretaceous specifically the Tibasosa Formation (Early Hauterivian-Later Albian) in the Cordillera Oriental Basin, around the town of Sogamoso, in the department of Boyacá, allowed to characterize the facies at the beginning to determinate the characteristics and sedimentary environments of each one of the four members that compose the Tibasosa Formation, which were describe in first place by Renzoni (1981) and were used in this study. Seven facies were defined and they allowed to determinate the sedimentary environments which are characteristic from the Tibasosa Formation in the study area. The depositional environment of the basal member is defined as a continental environment, fluvial one, braided and meandering rivers for the basal member attested by the presence of heterogeneous conglomerates, also, marine, tidal flats and lagoon, for the mid part, with presence of detrital limestones with intercalations between sandstones and lodolites, and finally the upper part, it is an inner platform and lagoon environment, represented by an intercalation between limestones and lodolites, the sequence corresponds to a marine progress over the continent in the Cretaceous. where took place the great inundation ending the lower Cretaceous, so the sedimentary environment defined in this work corroborate this information.
