dc.description.abstractEl siguiente artículo se centra en estudiar los procesos de integración realizados por la División de Asuntos Indígenas (DAI) con las comunidades indígenas del departamento del Cauca, Colombia, entre los años de 1968 a 1970. Lo anterior debido por ser la región con la mayor presencia de comunidades indígenas en el país. Para ello, se realizó bajo un enfoque de análisis cualitativo varios documentos que fueron producidos por la DAI, los cuales permitieron comprender como fueron las funciones que ejerció la DAI y también las finalidades que tuvieron sus comisione sobre los procesos de desarrollo e integración de las comunidades indígenas, para mejorar sus condiciones de vida y modernización. A lo largo del texto, se observará cómo se fue conformando el indigenismo que sentaría las bases de la DAI; luego como fueron algunas de sus operaciones en el Departamento del Cauca; por último, como fueron algunas de las reacciones de los pueblos indígenas ante las labores de la DAI.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe following article focuses on the integration processes carried out by the División de Asuntos Indígenas (DAI) with the indigenous communities of the department of Cauca, Colombia, between 1968 and 1970. This is due to the fact that this is the region with the largest presence of indigenous communities in the country. For this purpose, a qualitative analysis of several documents produced by the DAI was carried out, which allowed us to understand the functions performed by the DAI and also the purposes of its commissions on the processes of development and integration of the indigenous communities, in order to improve their living conditions and modernization. Throughout the text, we will look at how the indigenism that would lay the foundations of the DAI began to take shape; then at some of its operations in the Department of Cauca; and finally, at some of the reactions of the indigenous peoples to the work of the DAI.
