dc.description.abstractEl proceso industrial generado en siglo XIX junto a su posterior desaceleración a comienzos del siglo XX, permitió que el país se encaminara a la trasformación del sector educativo y los procesos industriales, los cuales tuvieron repercusión en la región santandereana y en la ciudad de Bucaramanga. Con la llegada de la administración pública al Gobierno Nacional por parte del Partido Lépoca, y con mayor vigor por el presidente Alfonso López Pumarejo tenía como objetivo principal poner en marcha un país industrializado. Para la consecución del mencionado objetivo nacional, la educación técnica y profesional jugó un papel decisivo en todo el país y el departamento santandereano. Por tal motivo, el contexto histórico del surgimiento de la Universidad Industrial de Santander tiene un especial estudio en éste trabajo académico, debido a esto, existe un análisis de las políticas educativas tanto del orden nacional como regional, a su vez se expuso cómo estas determinaciones políticas afectaron el proceso de construcción de la universidad. Finalmente, la Universidad en el año de 1948 pasa a ser una realidad, de ahí que la investigación termine por analizar los primeros cinco años de funcionamiento de la institución y encontrar un problema central: la falta de financiamiento.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe industrial process generated in the nineteenth century and its subsequent slowdown at the beginning of the twentieth century, allowed the country to be directed to the transformation of the education sector and industrial processes, which had an impact on the Santander region and of the city of Bucaramanga .With the advent of the Liberal Party's public administration the National Government in the third decade of the 20th century, the idea of "progress" published by the differents presidents of the time with the greater vigor Alfonso López Pumarejo was main goal at setting up an industrialized country. In order to achieve the national objective, technical education and professional education played a decisive role throughout the country and the department of Santander. For this reason, the historical context of the emergence of the Industrial University of Santander has a special study in this academic work, due to this, there is an analysis of educational policies both national and regional, in turn was exposed how these determinations Affected the construction process of the university. Finally, the University in 1948 becomes a reality; hence, the investigation ends by analyzing the first five years of operation of the institution and find a central problem: the lack of funding
