dc.description.abstractLos inmigrantes sirios, libaneses y palestinos jugaron un papel significativo en el desarrollo económico de Bucaramanga entre los años 1890 y 1950. Para comprender su influencia, se hace necesario conocer sus orígenes, las condiciones que generaron las migraciones de sus pueblos y las condiciones jurídicas y políticas que encontraron a su llegada. También quiénes fueron los pioneros, cuáles fueron las actividades que realizaron, cómo fue su ascenso social y establecer cuáles fueron sus principales aportes al desarrollo de la región. Esta investigación de corte histórico-regional, mostró la habilidad de estos inmigrantes en el comercio. Estos inmigrantes incursionaron en una variedad de actividades económicas como: importación de mercancías extranjeras, ventas al por mayor y al detal, actividades industriales, prestamos, compra y venta de bienes raíces de predios rurales y urbanos, actividades agrícolas y financieras. El éxito comercial obtenido se tradujo en su integración y asimilación a la sociedad local, que se manifestó con la pertenencia a las asociaciones comerciales, sociales y culturales de la época. La estructura del texto se dividió en cuatro capítulos: en el primero se realizó un examen de las políticas migratorias estatales de la época en Colombia. El segundo capítulo exploró los aspectos migratorios, tales como las causas, la trayectoria y se mostró el perfil socio demográfico de los inmigrantes que se instalaron en Bucaramanga. En el tercer capítulo abordó el proceso de participación económica de los inmigrantes en Bucaramanga. En el cuarto capítulo, se caracterizó el proceso de inserción e integración de los inmigrantes en la sociedad bumanguesa.
dc.description.abstractenglishSyrian, Lebanese and Palestinians immigrants played a significant role in the economic development of Bucaramanga in the years 1890 and 1950. To understand its influence, is necessary to know its origins, the conditions that led to the migration of peoples and their legal and political conditions found on arrival. Also who were the pioneers, what were the activities carried out, how was your social advancement and to establish what were his main contributions to the development of the region. This study and the regional historical, showed the ability of these immigrants in the trade. These Arabs stormed a variety of economic activities such as importation of foreign goods, wholesale and retail, industrial, loans, buying and selling real estate in rural and urban land, agricultural and financial activities. Achieved commercial success led to its integration and assimilation into local society, which manifested itself with membership in trade associations, social and cultural time. The structure of the text was divided into four chapters: the first was an examination of migration policies of the time in Colombia. The second chapter explored the migration issues, such as the causes, trajectory and was the socio-demographic profile of immigrants who settled in Bucaramanga. The third chapter dealt with the process of economic participation of immigrants in Bucaramanga. In the fourth chapter characterizes the process of inclusion and integration of immigrants into society.
