dc.description.abstractEste trabajo pretende realizar una representación histórica del proyecto de construcción y puesta en funcionamiento del ferrocarril de Santander. El estudio se enfocó especialmente en establecer las etapas del proyecto, delimitarlas de manera cronológica deacuerdo a la información recolectada; tratando de detallar las particularidades en cada fase. De la misma manera este trabajo tiene como finalidad, señalar las etapas del proyecto de construcción del ferrocarril y sus dificultades, identificar las condiciones de trabajo de los empleados del ferrocarril de Santander, estudiar la incidencia de la guerra de los mil días en el proceso de construcción del ferrocarril y abordar el modo como se reorientó la política nacional sobre los ferrocarriles una vez terminada la guerra entre liberales y conservadores, especialmente en el inicio de la administración de Rafael Reyes. Estos propósitos permitieron elaborar una imagen novedosa del acontecer del proyecto económico en el que estuvieron vinculados cientos de hombres, desde dirigentes y empresarios hasta trabajadores del común. Finalmente, el presente trabajo de investigación histórica ofrece una visión renovada de la historia económica regional y nacional, y de manera concreta sobre los proyectos de los ferrocarriles para finales del siglo XIX cuando inicia lo que se conoce como la era ferroviaria.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis paper aims to conduct a historical representation of the proposed construction and operation of railway Santander. The study focused particularly on establishing the project phases, in chronological delimit agree to the information gathered, trying to detail the particularities of each phase. These objectives allowed to develop a new image of the events of the economic project in which they were linked hundreds of men, from entrepreneurs to executives and ordinary workers. Similarly this paper aims to call attention to the stages of the railway construction project and its difficulties, to identify the working conditions of railway employees Santander, studying the impact of the war of a thousand days in the process railway construction and address the way in which reoriented the national policy on railways after the war between liberals and conservatives, especially in the beginning of the administration of Rafael Reyes. These objectives allowed to develop a new image of the events of the economic project in which they were linked hundreds of men, from entrepreneurs to executives and ordinary workers. Finally, this work of historical research offers a renewed vision of regional and national economic history, and specifically on rail projects by the end of the nineteenth century began what is known as the railway age.
