dc.description.abstractEste trabajo describe como se distribuye la educación básica y media en el área metropolitana de Bucaramanga mediante un análisis del comportamiento de la matrícula, numero de sedes educativas entre otros. Además se examina como se ofrece el servicio educativo teniendo en cuenta factores socio—económicos que afectan la permanencia o continuidad del estudiante. Teniendo en cuenta las variables que más impacto generan en la deserción escolar, se analiza si las 4 políticas que definió la alcaldía municipal cumplen con las necesidades de los estudiantes y mejoran el servicio educativo. Conjuntamente se realiza un bosquejo de la educación en Colombia sobre la cantidad de docentes que ejercen en el sistema de educación pública en básica primaria y secundaria. Gracias a este bosquejo el lector puede concebir una idea sobre el capital humano que está educando a la mayoría de los niños en el sistema educativo en el país. Con base en los resultados de las pruebas saber que se realizan cada tres años en Colombia, se comparan los resultados de las asignaturas matemáticas y ciencias en quinto y noveno grado con el fin de valorar si los resultados son significativos y al mismo tiempo contribuye la toma de decisiones futuras que favorezcan el sistema educativo Colombiano.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis paper describes the distribution of the primary and secondary education in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga by analyzing the behavior of the enrollment, number of educational sites and more. It also examines how the educational service is provided taking into account socio-economic factors effecting the permanence or continuity of the student. Taking into account the variables that generate the greatest impact on dropout rates, we analyze whether the 4 policies that defined the municipal government meet the needs of students and improve educational services. Jointly is made a sketch of the education in Colombia about the number of teachers who work in the public education system in elementary and secondary schools. Thanks to or because of this sketch the reader may conceive an idea of the human capital that is educating most of the children in the educational system in the country. Based on the knowledge tests results, which are held every three years in Colombia, we compare the results of math and science subjects in the fifth and ninth grade, in order to assess whether the results are significant and contribute while making future decisions that promote the Colombian educational system.
