This paper analyzes the impact that different tariff schemes can have on the dimensioning, operation and the cost of microgrids connected to the network. For this, it is necessary a case study of a specific area of the country that is implemented in the HOMER Grid software (Homer Grid Energy, 2021). Four rate schemes were chosen: the fixed rate model, the TOU (Time of Use) rate model, the net metering model and the CREG 174 rate model of 2021 could not be implemented in the HOMER Grid software, because the variables for the calculation of the sale price of the energy delivered to the network cannot be entered in the utility. The general objective of this work is to study the impact of different schemes rates in the sizing of electrical microgrids connected to the network using the HOMER Grid software, in order to contribute to the development of MGs, leading the generation of electrical energy to places of difficult access and propose strategies on energy collection electricity in Colombia. For its development, the following specific objectives were defined: • Describe the input data, capabilities, and sizing process for microgrids connected to the grid in the HOMER Grid software. Dimension a microgrid for a specific area of the country with potential for integration of multiple sources of distributed generation. • Analyze the impact of tariff schemes on the operation and costs of the microgrid of study according to the models that the software allows.
