Copépodos epipelagicos en bahía cupica, pacifico colombiano : taxonomía, distribución y variación temporal

dc.description.abstractLos cambios en la composición y abundancia de las especies de copépodos a escala espacial y temporal, ayuda a comprender el comportamiento de los ecosistemas que habitan y como la dinámica oceanográfica afecta esta variación. En este estudio se estableció la distribución espacial y temporal de la estructura comunitaria de las especies de copépodos epipelágicos de Bahía Cupica, Pacifico colombiano, durante diciembre 2012 y febrero 2013. Los resultados mostraron que durante los 2 periodos, Bahía Cupica presentó diferencias significativas en los parámetros oceanográficos evaluados. Se encontraron en total 53 especies de copépodos, la abundancia total fue un orden de magnitud mayor en febrero 2013 que en diciembre 2012 y se registró una mayor diversidad en el ensamblaje de copépodos durante febrero 2013. Durante los 2 periodos los copépodos de talla pequeña fueron dominantes representando hasta el 70% de la abundancia total, conformada en su mayoría por especies con hábito trófico omnívoro. Los ensamblajes de la comunidad estuvieron organizados en 6 agrupaciones significativas, de las cuales 4 corresponden a las estaciones de diciembre 2012, y 2 a febrero 2013. Durante ambos periodos la estructura comunitaria de los copépodos en Bahía Cupica estuvo modulada principalmente por la salinidad, donde se encontró una población residente dominada por copépodos de talla pequeña, los cuales están contribuyendo de manera significativa a la trasferencia de energía por la vía del bucle microbiano. __________________________________________________________________
dc.description.abstractenglishComposition and abundance changes of copepod species in spatial and temporal scale, helps to understand the behavior of the ecosystems they inhabit and how the oceanographic dynamic affects this variation. In this study the spatial and temporal distribution of the community structure of the epipelagic copepods species of Bahía Cupica, Colombian Pacific, was established during December 2012 and February 2013. The results showed that during the 2 periods, Bahía Cupica presented significant differences on the oceanographic parameters evaluated. In total 53 species of copepods were found, the total abundance in February 2013 was an order of magnitude higher than in December 2012 and greater diversity in the copepod assemblage was registered in February 2013. During the 2 periods copepods of small size were dominant representing up to 70% of the total abundance, composed mostly by species with omnivore trophic habit. Community assemblies were organized in 6 significant groups, 4 correspond to the sampling stations of December 2012, and 2 to February 2013. During both periods the community structure of copepods in Bahia Cupica was modulated mainly by salinity, where a resident population dominated by small-sized copepods was found, which are contributing significantly to energy transfer via microbial loop. __________________________________________________________________
