Análisis petrográfico de las areniscas de la Formación San Cayetano en el Pozo ANH-SSJ-15-STR-S

dc.description.abstract | El pozo ANH-SSJ-15-STR-S se localiza al sur de la ciudad de Montería, en el departamento de Córdoba, Colombia. (Coordenadas 1.455.274 N y 799.962 E, origen Bogotá). En este pozo se tomaron 2188 pies de núcleos de perforación (9.36’-2198’) de la Formación San Cayetano (Paleoceno superior–Eoceno inferior). Este trabajo de grado consiste en un análisis petrográfico realizado en siete muestras tomadas en las profundidades 87’, 371.66’, 895.75’, 1199’, 1390.08’,1923.42’ y 2175.33’ de los núcleos de perforación del pozo ANH-SSJ-15-STR-S. Las siete secciones delgadas analizadas en ese estudio son rocas terrígenas (87.74-97.39%T, 2.61-5.4%A, 0-8.49%O), de las cuales seis son arenitas (con matriz 4.23-7.23%) y una es una arenita lodosa (13.84% de matriz). En el diagrama triangular QtFL se determinaron seis litoarenitas (35.76-53.68 %Qt, 4.59-10.95%F, 37.19-57.29%L) y una litowacka (59.30%Qt, 3.10%F, 37.60%L); de otra manera en el diagrama triangular QmFLt se determinaron seis litoarenitas (21.97-34.39%Qm, 4.59-10.95%F 56.49-71.21%Lt) y una litowacka (37.21%Qm, 3.10%F, 59.69%Lt). En el diagrama triangular FRS (líticos sedimentarios), FRV (líticos ígneos) y FRM (líticos metamórficos) corresponden con filarenitas. Se resalta la presencia de líticos metamórficos (hasta 54,86%) como esquistos, cuarcitas y neises. En menor proporción líticos ígneos (hasta 6,11%) granitoides y basaltos y líticos sedimentarios (hasta 3,46 %) de chert (algunos con radiolarios), limolitas, calizas y areniscas. Se resalta la presencia de granos de cuarzo con evidencias de deformación plástica y recristalización estática y rocas de falla. Con base en lo anterior se determina que la procedencia de las areniscas de la Formación San Cayetano analizadas en este estudio corresponde con un orógeno reciclado. | |
dc.description.abstractenglish | The ANH-SSJ-15-STR -S Well is located to the south of Monteria city, Córdoba department, Colombia (Coordinates 1.455.274 N, 799.962 E, Bogotá origin). 2188 ft of drilling cores were taken (9,36’-2198’) belonging to the San Cayetano Formation (Upper Paleocene-Lower Eocene). This work consists of one petrographic analysis performed in seven samples, taken at depths 87’, 371.66’, 895.75’, 1199’, 1390.08’,1923.42’ and 2175.33’ in drilling cores from ANH-SSJ-15-STR-S Well. Seven thin sections analyzed in this study are terrigenous rocks (87.74-97.39%T, 2.61-5.4%A, 0-8.49%O), of which six are arenites (with matrix 4.23-7.23%) and one wacke (13.84% matrix). Based on QtFL diagram, it was possible to determine six litharenites (35.76-53.68% Qt, 4.59-10.95%F, 37.19-57.29%L) and one lithicwacke (59.30%Qt, 3.10%F, 37.60%L); on the other hand, using QmFLt diagram were determined six litharenites (21.97-34.39%Qm, 4.59-10.95%F, 56.49-71.21%Lt) and one lithicwacke (37.21%Qm, 3.10%F, 59.69%Lt). The samples were classified in SRF (Sedimentary rock fragments), IRF (Igneous rock fragments) and MRF (metamorphic rock fragments) diagrams, and they correspond with Phyllarenites. It is highlighted by the presence of MRF (up to 54.86%) as schists, quartzites and gneisses. To a lesser extent, IRF (up to 6,11%) as granitoids and basalts, and SRF (up to 3,46%) of chert (someone with radiolarians), siltstones, limestones and sandstones were identified. The presence of quartz grains is highlighted with evidence of plastic deformation and static recrystallization, and also fault-rocks. Based on information presented above, it was determined that provenance of sandstones from San Cayetano Formation analyzed in this study correspond to a Recycled Orogen. | |
