dc.description.abstractGrandes ciudades del mundo como Madrid, Londres, Berlín, París, entre otras tienen que enfrentarse a la difícil tarea de idear soluciones que abarquen la problemática de tráfico vehicular; debido al incremento poblacional (crecimiento anual 1.2%, a nivel mundial) y del parque automotor. En algunas ciudades intermedias de Colombia como Bucaramanga, se ha optado por implementar un sistema de transporte masivo para solucionar el problema del tráfico. Sin embargo, el incremento poblacional y el uso del automóvil a futuro, implantaran la necesidad de proponer la creación de otros sistemas de mayor capacidad y eficiencia, entre ellos sobresalen los sistemas tipo metro. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo principal la determinación de cuáles serían las condiciones técnicas para un diseño favorable de un sistema de transporte tipo metro, para aquellas ciudades intermedias de Colombia que en años posteriores presenten una problemática similar al Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga o de mayor congestión vehicular e incremento del tráfico; teniendo en cuenta, condiciones utilizadas por algunas ciudades del mundo, entre ellas ciudades de América del Sur; para obtener una solución oportuna a la problemática del tráfico vehicular, disminuyendo el uso del vehículo particular, la accidentalidad vial, la falta de respecto con el espacio público y la utilización del transporte colectivo.
dc.description.abstractenglishBig cities like Madrid, London, Berlin, Paris and others have to face the difficult task of devising solutions that encompass the problem of vehicular traffic, due to population growth ( 1.2 % annual growth, globally) and park automotive. In some intermediate cities such as Bucaramanga Colombia, has chosen to implement a mass transit system to solve the traffic problem. However, population growth and car use in the future, implanted the need to propose the creation of other systems of greater capacity and efficiency, including the meter stick type systems. This research has as main objective to determine what technical conditions would be favorable for design of an underground transport system type, for those intermediate cities in Colombia than in later years present a similar to the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga or greater congestion problems and increased traffic, taking into account conditions used by some cities worldwide, including cities in South America, for a timely solution to the problems of traffic, reducing the use of private vehicles, road accidents, lack with respect to public space and the use of public transport.
