dc.description.abstractenglish | When modifying the hydrocarbon distribution of heavy oils in the feedstock, the hydrocracking product distribution changes. Then, to improve the process, the simulations are required for the chemistry industry, reducing the expenses in experimentation, the product cost and optimizing the operating conditions. This approach studied the effect of the feedstock in the product distribution. The simulations of the process were based in a fundamental hydrocracking kinetic model, for operating conditions used in the industrial process. Initially, C20 and C30 components of single molecular classes were fed into the reactor, changing the branching and the number of rings. Finally the effect on the product of the changes in the paraffins, naphthenes and aromatics distributions of the vacuum gas oil (VGO) was described, changing the branching and the number of rings on VGO. The results obtained in the individual classes’ simulations describe a reaction mechanism based on the molar product distributions by carbon number. In this approach was founded that the changes in the paraffins and aromatics distributions of the VGO fed, do not change significantly the product distribution of the different classes, because the weight percent of those classes in the feed is low; but on the other hand, the naphthenes produce the highest amount of paraffins by dealkylation.
