dc.description.abstract | DESPULPADO, AUTOMATIZACION, PROTOTIPO, THEOBROMA CACAO, AGRICULTURA.

DESCRIPTION: Currently, the sowing and harvesting of cocoa crops has gained great strength in the country, however, this process is not completely industrialized, for this reason it requires the subcontracting of personnel to carry out the production tasks and with this, assume the possible risks that represent, especially during the process of cutting and pulping of cocoa beans, since they are processes that are carried out manually, workers must cut the husk of the cob with a blade and extract the beans with their own fingers in most of the cases. For this reason, it is necessary to design and build a machine that allows the continuous cutting and pulping process to be carried out, which satisfies a minimum production demand of 1 ton per day. The design consists of a system of conveyor belts powered by an electric motor, responsible for guiding the fruit to the cutting system consisting of two modified discs at the top and bottom of the conveyor belt, followed by a pulp system consisting of A hollow wedge with lateral limitations and a cover that allows the fruit to pass over the wedge without generating unwanted movements. To develop the final design of the machine, a study was carried out in which the different physical characteristics of the cocoa fruit were determined, two prototypes were developed and CAD modeling software (SolidWorks) was implemented.
